found a drone in my yard

Went for a buggy ride around the property yesterday, and sitting on top of all the fallen leaves was a very bright white object. Didn't pay much attention to it because I thought it was a wind blown bag or something. About an hour later took a hike back there to clean up the "garbage" and discovered it was actually a quad copter. With camera!!

I live on about 1/2 acre of grass in the middle of a 20 acre wooded lot. It was roughly 20' inside the woods. This thing did not get here by accident. Somebody was spying on me.

It has a 2gb memory card but I don't have a reader. Can't wait to go to work tomorrow and see what was recorded.

Flying around and sightseeing, then losing contact with the drone, is not the same as "spying on you". Although, I guess the memory card will show exactly what was going on.

Well, now they know what you do in the woods during your 'private time'.

Pic? Doubt spying, more likely a loss of signal/flyaway.

Yeah, not spying, just flying around looking at stuff. Probably someone trying to learn FPV flying and lost control due to the end of their range.

At least you have a life that's interesting enough that people want to spy on you.

So maybe I am a little paranoid.
There's a reason I live in the middle of the woods.
Can't wait to see the video.

Bet you even get to see who launched it on the video- I agree, probably someone who is new to flying.

That would be a boring video over my backyard.

Please put the video on youtube so everyone can watch it. Bonus points if they really were spying!

Sounds like you're a glass half empty kinda guy.
Of course I will return it, depending on what's on the card.
A neighbors house was broken into a couple weeks ago.
Very interested to see if somebody was checking out my crib.
Can't see the house from the road, and I keep the gate shut, so a drone could be very useful.
Never been this excited to go to work!

Was #9 adequate, or did you need to use something larger like #7?

I have seen drones have problems and just fly off on their own until they crash. They can fly a long way.

A drone over my backyard would capture endless hours of me standing there muttering obscenities waiting for mini schnauzers to stop spinning around and just poop already.

If you reeealy want to get paranoid:
The drone is from a domestic AQ/Russian/Chinese/other sanctioned squad who want to infiltrate American networks using your computer.

Plug that virus memory card into the business computer, it will do its work, and then wait for the feds to show up en mass.

'nite and sweet dreams.
