I can't wait to see the part where he drives the Corvette over the cliff.

Seriously stoked.

Nothing is more fun than seeing a movie with true fans; people who have loved the story and characters their whole lives and kids who may see it for the first time. One of my best memories as a parent, watching the original trilogy with my son(3 years old at the time) when it came out on dvd the first time.

My friend (who is a big geeky fan) is going Friday at midnight, Apple bought out an entire theater for the local office or whatever they have.

Yes, an whole theater, at midnight, filled with Apple employee fanbois. Hope no one accidentally lets off a fire extinguisher or anything...

Nice merchandise.

FWIW, to everyone beeotching about the over-merchandization (is that a word?) you do realize the same thing was done back when the first trilogy was out, right? Granted, I don't remember seeing Star Wars oranges, but I had the lunch boxes, the action figures, the light sabers, the bed sheets...and yes, the underwear (Fruit of the Loom, if I remember correctly).

I didn't understand the merch craze the first time around. I was twelve when the first one came out and the only thing I bought was the poster and that was replaced when The Next Big Thing dropped...

I like Disney like anyone else but their marketing (and re-marketing, and re-re-marketing...) of things is utterly shameless. It takes "obnoxious" to a whole new level.

I'm not a super Disney fan but when relatives with kids visit from out of town I will take a trip down memory lane with them...

However seeing SW characters walking around Disneyland creeps me out.

I'm not a violent man but this makes me want to throw heavy objects at the TV!

Maybe funny the first five or six times... but they have been playing ten or twenty times a day (I know, I shouldn't be watching that much TV but I was home sick for two days).

I have been debating about posting this, let me give a disclaimer that I identify myself as a Christian:

Never seen any of the Star Wars....never will. Your industry is a fantasy world that I just don't relate to...at ALL. Yep, I are different :p

Excellent review of phantom menace:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxKtZmQgxrI

After phantom menace who cares about star wars?

Not like Disney could mess it up any more. The whole blockbuster movie scene is stupid. When I was a kid I figured when I was an adult we'd all be wise to the marketing but nope.

72doug2,2S 12-18-2015 02:56 PM

Saw it. It was like watching Harry Potter in space.

Noah930 12-18-2015 10:53 PM

Worth the hype!

Oh, and didn't get to sit next to the milfy mom, but did wind up next to their nanny (fit to break up any Hollywood marriage).

manbridge 74 12-19-2015 05:52 AM

Looks like a remake.

Looks like all the other "girl kicks a s s movies where they accomplish anything and everything with little to no training while the guys are shown to be inept."

Looks like I won't be seeing it.
