How about a Silverado with a Duramax diesel?
It's perfect for your toys and where you live.

I recently said Tundra or Ecoboost. Now I think Tundra or a used Ram 1500 Diesel?

I was talking to a guy earlier this evening, he just bought a new F150, bells & whistles, $54,000 for a Pick up
![]() He is a sales rep, and drives a lot, plus pulls a small trailer, said some of the guys had Tundras, have some issues, the guys with the Fords seem happiest, the guys with the Dodges, always having issues. As others have said, drive a few, maybe rent one of each for a week and see what you think.

Titan Warrior is cool, but the new Raptor looks epic as well.

My 2011 Tuncra CrewMax TRD has been a head ache. It is just off warrantee and I noticed that my rad support is cracked. The hood has bounced since new. Toyota has not got back to me on if they will fix it. I am going to weld it tonight, I don't need the hood flying up.
They just had it in twice for major service on the power steering (new everything) and a rebuild on the front differential. Pretty unacceptable.

I agree...I was bummed to hear the new Raptor will no longer be available as Crew Cab/Short bed. Only in Extra Short 4' bed. If I could get a 6' bed and crew cab I'd be at the Ford dealer w/ $$ in hand for one!

Thanks for the reply's gents.
Looks like the Tundra was ahead, but the F150 is getting some support. Gas mileage is an issue, but the reality is they all suck. Not going with a Turbo V6. Unproven. Unclebilly. That looks like it was a bad experience. Brian. Duramax diesel? Should I get a dually as well? I rarely tow. Talking to sales guy at Ford he offered me really good money on my trade in and keeps telling me there is lots of movement on the price of the new truck. Sorta pi##es me off that they will take $10,000 of the price. Why have a sticker price so high? Going to drive the Tundra today and see how much movement is on the price. The Nissan is one horny looking truck!

Being in the same boat I am also looking for a new truck. I use it mainly to tow a 5,000 travel trailer. I have a 2005 Tundra now but going for the Ford F150. There are great deals on the 2015 F150s if you can find one. I want the 36 gallon tank not the standard 23 and they are all but gone unless you go to a Lariat but I want an XLT. I have looked all over California and even thought there are deals on the 15's so many of the leftovers are bloated with so many items I do not want.
I am going with the 3.5 Eco-boost since I tow in the mountains. I would go with either that or the 5.0, both are proven motors. Is you are towing lighter loads there is the 2.7 eco-boost rated at around 7,000 pounds towing and there are deals on those now. I test drove a 2016 Tundra and having had 2 of them I'm going back to Ford. The Dodge eco-diesel is not a performer and I would pass on that. Since I can not find exactly what I want I'm ordering a truck from my dealer today. Eight to twelve weeks and I get what I want. Best of luck in your search.

![]() Some general comments about engine choice, my 2012 F150 was a 5.0 and my current 2013 is an 3.5L Ecoboost. If you tow, do yourself a favor and get the Ecoboost. It is a torque monster and pulls my 7500-ish lb 23' boat/trailer like it's not even there. The 5.0 could maintain normal interstate speeds but definitely had to work at it, frequent downshifts from 6-3 get annoying after a while. The Ecoboost drives like a quiet diesel with worse MPG, I love it.

I bought my Tundra on 04 October, 2014. I bought it because I knew I was going to putting a lot of miles on a truck for business and my 2005 F-150 was clocking in at 158K. Tires needed replacement, etc. I sold it at a significant discount to a young man who otherwise could not have afforded it.
I see it every few weeks and he worships the the thing. The Tundra has 31K on it as it sits today. I can say that a few comforts aside, a little more pep in the Tundra, that either one fits my needs and I would be happy to drive them both every day. Any truck these days is so much better than before it is really about price, features and reliability...personal preference in other words.

I just took the Tundra for a test drive.
It lacks road feel like the F150, but I guess they are both trucks. It was better tho. The motor and transmission where very smooth compared to the Ford. The Toyota pulled hard, but the transmission pulled very very smooth. Up-shifting was very nice. Nicest shifting truck I have ever driven.

2015 Nissan titan!!
The 2016 has the Cummings diesel. They are giving away the 2015s. Had an 08 until recently trading it in for the 15. No problems ever and a deal I couldn't pass up.

I thought I should post the results as I have had the truck for 4 months.
Still as impressed with it as the day I bought it. I added the TRD grill as I didn't like the chrome. The 5.7 litre has massive power. Passing on the hwy makes it feel like my TT! ![]()

40K on mine. Still as solid as Georgia clay.
I like the front end. I may change.

What did you have to do to get rid of the ridiculous chrome front end? Whatever it is, I want to do it to mine. It's almost embarrassing.
