Barrett Jackson
Started watching, prefer other auctions, but they have a 918 up for auction (reserved), and interested to see what it goes for with the Mopar crowd.

Damn! I should tell my friend about that. He still has his 79 T/A 6.6 from high school (original owner).

Don't care how "rare" a car is.
Destination: Pinnacle of Stupidity We've arrived at our destination... Just a little insight into what a poorly designed piece of junk these cars really are.

Did anyone notice when the Jay Leno Ford p/up stalled at $120 G's? I could have sworn I heard the hammer drop. Then someone said the truck is going for a good charity (MS) dig deep into your pockets.
Quickly the bidding went to $200 G's and the truck sold. If the hammer dropped at $120 isn't the auction for that vehicle over?

BJ is not the real world. Every maroon with a 76 Cougar now thinks his is worth 80 grand.

if you haven't gone to the event, it is one of a kind. Spent from 10 to 2 just walking the cars, the stuff, looking at the merchandise. It is quite overwhelming. I did walk the sold cars and found a lot sold for 20 to 30. Square Bird for around $20k, Bentley Arnage for around $40k. If you are car folks, come to Scottsdale for the week. Russo and Steele, Barret, Gooding, plus a great concours at the Biltmore the Sunday before auction week.

A guy approached us to do a story on a truck he bought from BJ.
The guy swore it was a factory stock, special order truck, but admits all he knows about it is what he was told by BJ when he bought it. It was a '62 Chevy, short bed half ton camper special. 409 four barrel motor, factory air conditioning (with rotary compressor), it did have a vintage Harrison radiator decal on a window. Guy paid $60gs for it. In case that description didn't ring any bells, the camper special was a fancied-up 3/4 ton truck. That's what made it "special." Chevy records show no 409s going into 1/2 ton trucks in 1962. Air conditioners used piston pumps in those days. And the pièce de résistance, the casting number and serial number on the engine block show that it's a 348, not a 409. Poor guy got hosed big time.
