Yo Baz. Knockout Roses
My landscaping was starting to get a bit out of hand so spent most of the weekend cutting back and also yanking some shrubbery that my wife hated.
Have some knockout Roses she wants relocated. So do I cut them back first then replant or replant then cut back? Thanks.

Cut back first....Reduces transpiration loss at the leaves while roots take.

G'day!

Greg has it right, Scott.
Cut them back first. In addition to reducing transpiration.....and perhaps more importantly.....you won't have as many thorny branches to deal with! Ouch!

Look to see if you can find some Double Delight roses to put in while you are at it.
They are very well named, both beautiful and great fragrance. I agree with the others, trim first, then transplant. Cheers Richard |

Scott, we have a bunch in the back. Tough plants but there is a plight that's killing them.
