I like Tebow, but also think he is at best a mediocre QB at the NFL level. But he is also an exceptional competitor, leader, hard worker, and a good man.

Johnny Football is also at best a mediocre QB at the NFL level. But he is also a spoiled arrogant brat, a druggie, a drunk, and lazy.

Given the choice between two mediocre QBs, I'll take the one that will show up sober to practice. As an aside, it may not matter before long, because I'll be shocked if Manziel lives to see 25.

Exactly like the Broncos defense right now...but instead we took...Sanchez

I'm not sure about Tebow's arm can keep the opposing defenses honest so they don't just focus on stopping the run though.

On the other hand, it might not matter who's at QB with the Broncos D. So, maybe Sanchez is ok?

Sanchez might not be that bad really that's right. Siemian (from Northwestern) who was our 3rd string QB last year has really got some untapped skills, and has a great arm. Broncos could have a QB controversy between these two.

If my goal is to win games, the chance is greater in the long run with Manziel. But I'm not going far with Tebow, not matter how much I like him as a person. I would really love it if Tebow bulked up a little and played the game as a tight end. I think he'd have a long career doing that.
I'd take Manziel.
Then maybe hire Tebow to be his roommate and shadow.

Florida Gators tried that with Tebow and Aaron Hernandez.
Didn't work out too well.

I'd not assign the psychological atmosphere of Hernandez to Manziel.
If there's no chance for Manziel then there's no chance for any of us.

The goal is not to populate a team with great citizens, but to win football games. By any means. Tebow is a good guy, but his QB skills are limited, at best. Manziel has football skills oozing out of every pore. If you can break him away from the stupid kid stuff, you might have a record-breaker. A good, inspirational person can only take you so far - you actually need talent on the field to win games. Johnny needs to grow up, and it's possible he might. But Tebow will never grow football skills.

Being a good quarterback is 50% mental, and 50% skill. While Tebow's mind is in the right place and is a student of the game, his skills might lack a bit, and his release speed needs help.

Manziel has all the skill he needs to a be a great one, but doesn't care one whit about applying that talent, and would rather sew his wild oats.

I don't agree that Manziel has all of the physical skills to be a great NFL QB. He had the skills to be a great college QB, but that does not directly translate to being a great pro. Most of the NFL scouting reports rated his arm as good but not great, accuracy as good but not great, not all that big, and he's way too quick to bail on a play and rely on his feet. Ask Kapernick and RG3 how well that scramble first mentality applies to the NFL long-term. The only mobile QBs that have really succeeded in the pros only scramble as a last resort, they are still capable of standing in the pocket and throwing lasers.

If the other team doesn't score, all it takes is one field goal to win.

If those were my two quarter back choices, get Tebow out there, and focus in the best defense possible.
