I had a '78 for a couple years that I bought for a song. It sat in a friend's parents' garage for 6 years or so as the owner was in Switzerland on a work assignment. Push came to shove and the car had to go. After some fluid changes and a good cleaning she was (wait for it) reliable! It did have a Weber with electric choke, car started every single time without any hesitation. At the end of the day the "restoration" that we performed on it in the late 90's was showing some wear (bondo started chipping off the rockers) and I decided it was time to cut it lose before I ended up starting a project I couldn't finish (replacing the sills).
They really are fun cars. It seems everyone has a story about one. Kids love them at local cruise nights and they really are a blast to wind up. Enjoy yours, it looks to be in pretty good shape. A few pictures of my B: IMG_0041 by sicklyscott, on Flickr IMG_0043 by sicklyscott, on Flickr

very nice, well done
My B has a few options I see missing on your car, namely holes in the rockers and floors.

Sweet car and any Minilite style wheel looks good on them.

Congratulations! Great car, and now you can go to British car message boards and get in on endless discussions of the proper damper oil for those SUs!

Sweet!
I drove one (a '67 BGT) for the first time a couple of summers ago (my girlfriend's dad bought his new) and was surprised at what a fun car it is to drive. And what a nice shifter it has. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but I've always favored Italian sports cars. And I like the look of the Miata seats in the buggy bumper car.

Floors and rockers were done by PO. Thank goodness for that. I hate body work.

I belong to one of those forums. Of course my screen name is dark prince. They are a helpful bunch and have come to my rescue a few times. As with any board there are some that can be tedious. This forum is still the best bunch of people on the web.
