FYI: The workers in Italy's garment industry are mostly Chinese and as usual are very low wage. But of course you knew that. Enjoy your dragon pants.

Here you go guy's and gals lovers of Italian apparel. Not only that, the exact 'made in Italy' patterns are also replicated in Asian countries. Cheer's

US Customs is so behind and over burden on container inspections. You couldn't imagine the amount of labeled wholegoods that are falsely declared made in Europe but actually China. The problem is almost all apparel makers have approved suppliers there. Those same factories may make legally under contracts with them. The Italian brand don't give a hoot and actual country of origin for export, long as its moving out the dock.

Yes I did! I looked at it and thought hmmmm, and this thought can't be. Went home and looked it up and yep it was.

Most of the stuff I get is a little older and is of a bit higher quality. The RMC's are made in HK. Evisu and PRPs are made in Japan. Bruno Magli has a line of shoes made in China. As do others.. The real deal Italian and EU stuff is getting expensive as in over $500 a pair. One of the gals I talk to was a clothing manufacturer for Nordstroms, she also did contract work for Tommy Bahama..she told me the older stuff is made better.

Akron? You got a wee bit of time. A new, huge Wolf stove at REX's salvage (Roadway Express damaged goods) with a a bent side panel and two missing gigantic iron grill tops (maybe six in total) was $1,200. A grand to fix max? Lasted two weeks. I literally did not have the room. $8,000 unit. Did score a used but mint retro modern dresser for $50 at a thrift shop three years ago. Comparable same brand dressers were $1,200- $2,000 (online retail so half is reasonable value). Was there three days until I found you could just put a lock on the thing no charge. I know it was some guest bedroom dresser that sat unused for 40 years. Clothes? I suspect there are deals on good stuff but the donators are not the same here as in more robust economic communities. There is a pair of Allen Edmonds for $9, right now sitting there, but they will be size 8 1/2.

Going to a charity gala ball (?) this weekend where the theme is "silver" - supposed to wear silver.
I'm not into spending $$ to buy silver garments just for this. Off to the thrift store . . .

Thanks for the compliments folks! I thought we did good and somewhat coordinated with each other. Tabs, what's wrong with Brown shoes? I did have a matching belt. To be honest these are the first pair of non-black dress shoes I have ever worn. I started paying attention to shoes that weekend and most of the younger crowd were sporting brown as well. Trendy? |

They say brown before 6 PM, and black after 6 PM.
Generally with those shoes and cloths it is 50/50... Generally blue and brown (shoes) do not go together. With blue jeans it is a different story. But the blue with tan slacks does work. Sooooo? But women really do notice colour coordination. As the lady said to me the other day, "most men are colour blind." So if ya wana step up your game colour coordinate. It is called paying attention or being aware of detail.
