Fuji XPro 1
About a year ago, I bought my daughter a Fuji XPro 1 camera. Since then she's taken it on a seven month backpacking trip in Europe as well as three months at her summer camp job in the Sierras. It has been a fantastic camera. But she only has the basic 35 mm (50 mm in 35 mm equivalent) lens and additional Fuji XF lenses are too pricey for a college kid.
Well . . . I bought her an adapter for Nikkor and another adapter for Canon FD, $20 each. Miracle! Now she can use all my old manual lenses, and we have dozens. These old manual lenses are excellent. She, so far, likes: - Nikkor 50 mm f1.2 - Nikkor 85 mm f1.4 - Canon FD 24 mm f2.8 - Canon FD 17 mm f4.0 She's not a big zoom fan. So I'm thinking about buying one for myself. What do we think about the XPro 2?

I shoot my Nikon lenses on my Sony A7II and Nex-7 cameras. Really enjoy using them.
You might want to take look here: https://www.fujixspot.com/ to see what actual users think about the XPro 2. I frequent the sister site for Sony's.

I have a Fuji X-T10. Nice camera, takes great pictures. Lenses are expensive, I might check out an adapter.

I would imagine that none of your older Nikon glass have auto focus functions and that they will also not work with the metering on the XPro1 or 2. I was looking at this camera so I could use my old Nikon glass and also some of the Ziess glass I have from my Contax G2. I gave up as I've got older I don't want to carry a meter and as my eyes get older I admit that I do use the auto focus function some time, though I very seldom shoot the camera in auto.
Will you get and of the functions using the Nikon glass will you be shooting everything full manual?

That's the nice thing about the Sony's, the metering works with the old legacy glass in full manual mode. With the IBIS (in body image stabilization) and my TAP adapter I have auto focus and image stabilization too when using them on the A7II.

On the XPro 1, you set to camera to shoot w/o lens. The camera + manual lens then works in stop down mode. Which works perfectly fine for normal exposures. If you are trying to set the lens to f 22 for an ultra long exposure, then it is a problem, but that's not common for us.
As for the focusing, she has young eyes so not an issue. For me, I either run the lens at a smaller aperture (f 5.6 etc) or if using wide-open, I bracket the focus.

I ended up going a different route as I wanted a rangefinder like my old Contax and even a lot of the newer mirrorless cameras are set up to look like a SLR.
I got the Leica D-Lux 109 and absolutely love it. You might want to take a look at it as I'm sure you can get one with a grip, shade and a few other accessories for less than a XPro1 or 2 body. It has a fixed zoom lens that I was hesitant about but because it is so compact I end up carrying it everywhere and taking a lot more shots than I use to
