Targa-hip
Just drove back from Parade. After about 4 hours of sitting my left hip is killing me. Any ideas? Is it the SRD seats, the fact the 79 SC has no left leg room. Or worse yet the 50 year old kid in the driver's seat?

Probably the later, but my SC had sport seats so I'm not really sure.

Those high bolsters could certainly cause some issues.

What side do you carry your wallet on? Same side? Try putting it in your front pocket.

Good guess you are correct. I'll try this on the next trip. Thanks

The heat got to my father so we got up early and headed for home. I need a good long stretch I think.

It was definitely warm over there! I was behind a targa on I-90 for a bit this morning and possibly a white cayenne following, was that you?

The wallet can for sure cause pain. When I drive my 85 Carrera with the standard seats more than a few minutes I put my wallet in my front pocket. I suspect the guys built like a F1 driver, 5.5 and 135 pounds don't have that issue. I am 6 foot tall and I whipped anorexia long ago. Getting the angles of the seat just right helps a lot as well. I have the seat bottom tilted so it puts support on my thighs and the sat bolster pushed out and the seat back just right. That is easy with the electric 8 way adjustable seats. And good AC helps because I don't sweat in the seat.
I have done 900+ miles trips in a day many times. Several times with my wife in the passenger seat. We did that on two different days last year on our way to Jay Peak and sites further. northeast.

If the targa was light blue then probably.

I work out just about everyday which includes some walking.
I did not do this yesterday and my hips are tight and hurt from lack of blood flow. Sitting is not good for you, sitting for long periods is even worse. There was a field reporter scrunched up in an armored vehicle during the Attack on Iraq. He died simply because he wasn't able to move around for long periods of time, or at least this contributed to his death they later said. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/iraq_bloom.htm Quote:

Several years back I got a new VW Passat. After one 400mile trip, one way, the driving hurt my butt so badly I almost could not make it back home. Two weeks before had made the same trip in my Boxster without any problems. Thereafter, could not drive the Passat for longer than 5 minutes before it caused pain. Didn't matter how I adjusted the seat. Doc said it was causing nerve damage. VW bought the car back. I had only put 2000 miles on it.
While the nerves were irritated I drove every 4 door I could afford both new and used. The only 4 doors I could drive for longer than 10 minutes were the Volvo S40 and the BMW 3series with sport seats. Found BMW 7 series has a seat option that gel is pumped back and forth between halves of the seat bottom. It is slow enough you don't notice, but fast enough that you still get good circulation to your legs. They were just a bit out of my price range. Ended up getting the 3 series with sport seats. Since the Boxster was pain free I now have a 928GTS and Cayanne Turbo that are a pleasure to drive (pain free). If the 928 and Cayenne seats did not fit so well and not cause any problems I would be looking for one of those BMW 7 series very seriously.

Have a phone case that holds my DL and 3 cards just fine. Stopped carrying an actual wallet long ago. Was just using a card sleeve. Then moved to a Bellroy Slim Sleeve. Now just use the iPhone case since I always have my phone with me anyway.
Did about the same thing with keys. Can get in house with code, work replaced keys with credit card size ID badges, etc. So now only carry the key for the car I am driving.

I have a dead pedal in my Targa, right next to the clutch. It is a pretty good sized one. I also stop at least once in a four hour drive, even if it is for only five minutes.

Not sure that I understand "Parade", but were you having to use your clutch a great deal.
I took on a sore hip joint from having to do that. Years ago.
