2001 Tacoma double cab 4x4 with the TRD package here. ZERO PROBLEMS! 156,000 on the clock. Love this truck!!!
I would drive this truck across the country right now and not worry about a thing.

Wasn't that the one built in CA at that newfangled joint factory that's now closed? I had the Geo Prizm which I think was the same. Ran through 200kmi for me with little maintenance. It was such an improvement over my previous '96 Escort - which was itself awesome compared to my '83 Chevy Citation. That Citation had to have been built by the guy that wrote Rivethead...

We can still get close to 30K if we wished to sell it, which we don't as we really like it. https://www.forbes.com/pictures/ehmk45eflmi/1-toyota-fj-cruiser/#6dd3906f48c4

Toyotas are tanks. Especially the Land Cruisers.

When I moved here to AZ in '10 I wanted to replace the '92 Jeep XJ that I stupidly sold a year earlier up in OR. I went on forums to get the inside chit on SUVs....Toyota, BMW, Porsche, and most all others.
I very much wanted a white BMW but I followed my head and not my heart as I ended up buying an '07 2WD, 6 cyl. RAV4...70k miles, one owner with all maintenance paperwork. Replaced only wiper blades, oil/filter, air/cabin filters, brake fluid flush, and tires since then...not one issue, otherwise...not even a rattle. I'm assuming it will be my last vehicle (73 yrs. old). . Not looking forward to the $400 spark plug change when the time comes.

Thanks for all the feedback folks!
I've got plenty of time to look for the right car, and the Camry is where I'll be starting.

We have a 14 Toyota Venza AWD that is based off the Camry platform.
So far only $300+/- for service beyond regular maintenance. Not a pile of miles on it but it has been a good vehicle. Been looking for a replacement for my wife's Nissan X-Trail and will lean towards another Toyota.

I had a Tacoma (forget the year) I had bought used with high miles for $6500 driven it for years, hauled coal, firewood, and pulled stumps with it. It got ridden hard and put away wet. I had gotten my money's worth, and then the frame issue made the news. Toyota bought it from me for $9,000+. It paid for my Tundra. The frame issue was real, but Toyota took good care of me. Would not hesitate to recommend.

FWIW my son has been driving a Matrix for 10 yrs and has over 225,000 miles on it with only routine maintenance. I will admit my Taco hasn't been as trouble free but Toyota has stepped up, eg. they just replaced both leaf spring stacks free because one leaf cracked.

My daughter has our old Nissan Xtrail with 95k kms or about 60k miles. She is also looking for a replacement. Nissan was bad in that it did nothing about the rust on the rear wheel arches within the warranty period. We are steering away from the Nissan Rogue with the CVT(possible problems with that) although it is apparently the best selling suv in North America. Would like her to get a Rav4 or Honda Crv but she says they are too plain jane.

100k on my wifes 2004 Lexus RX (basically a Toyota Highlander in a different skin). That thing has been a tank.

IROC...nice looking 450! any lift on it?
I put a 2.5" Slee kit on mine and love it. Apparently, anything 4"+ requires a bunch of modifications. We have a OHV trail system about an hour away (Uwharrie), and that J80 is a ton of fun on the trails.

I ended up having to go with a double cardan front drive shaft to eliminate some off-throttle vibrations, but my caster was fine. I've heard of Uwharrie, but never been there. My picture above was taken at Windrock (Windrock Park) which is about 45 minutes from my house. I actually don't wheel it really hard...mostly mall speed bumps.

Won't go back. Poor dealer service and Nissan Canada didn't step up to the plate for issues that should have been covered by the warranty. It is too bad as the little SUV was a decent vehicle but would never consider another by that manufacture. The Rav4s do seem to be on the high side for pricing right now. Very popular vehicle. Been hoping to find that Lexus RX unicorn. Owned by an elderly person and not driven a pile of miles. Of course I would like that for very little money!

I love Toyotas. Daily drive a 2000 Camry V6 with 315K, and just recently placed my 1991 Land Cruiser as our family back up vehicle. It has 300K.
On the camry, I have recently replaced all of the front end bushings, struts, tie rids, ball joints, etc... Did the timing belt at 150K, but could have gotten many mores out of it. It drives like a brand new car. We have had a bunch of Land Cruisers over the years, from 1974 to 2003. All have been incredibly reliable. Can't go wrong with those 2 Toyota vehicles.

A guy I know who spent quite a bit of time in the Sandbox was amazed at all the Hi-Lux's he saw there. Says they don't make them here cuz they just last too damn long.

And I've put 200K on 2 Lexus GS's - an original 93, and a 2008. Neither of them had a single failure in their combined 400K miles. Just brakes, tires etc.
