Let's all get together in the New Year and we can share our Lima/MP trip thoughts. Was probably the most amazing trip we've taken.

Provence and Barcelona in April. Our kid's partners have never been to Europe, so I'm taking the whole bunch over. Last few days buying tickets, renting AirBnB places - I really like doing that.
It's a pay-it-forward. My father-in-law sponsored a lot of travel for us when we were younger. My turn now. Where I want to go is Vietnam, Vancouver, Croatia, Hokkaido, St Petersburg...never ending list.

that might be one of my most amazing trips. that trip was sensory overload. i even got a local lady to teach me how to make Pho. she runs a cooking school. we made the friggen noodles from scratch! she typically doesnt teach Pho, but i begged. it doubled the length of the class. she took us to a local "farmers market" i saw veggies that were unrecognizable. animals too!!

What I found most interesting about it was how deceiving the street view of most places are. Even the most unassuming restaurant could have the most beautiful terraced interior. And buy something at the airport so when you enter Bali your smallest bill isn’t 100,000 from the airport ATM (about $10)

I really want to do a Europe MotoGP trip but can't decide which venues to attend. Some loved Barcelona, others hated it. Assen is too darn wet, been to England a dozen times. Italy? Portugal? Maybe do Mugello and Barcelona back to back.

I am going to Shanghai and really hoping to make it to Sichuan province to both eat (really want to get some street food ideas) and visit the Crystalline Turquoise Lake in the Jiuzhaigou National Park.

Back to Paris for the first time in 20 years for a big composites show, JEC...we are displaying one of our UAS there with a composites company called Chomarat.
In 2015 we won the "Innovative New Aircraft" with our Kitty Hawk. I didn't go last time. ![]() ![]() We are taking a new design this year.

I’m doing BVI again in March, my 6th.
I actually imagine it to be really fun since it will be a little more “rustic” than usual. They need the business too.

Scotland in the summer. Flying to Edinburgh, spend a couple days and take a train trip around the country. Looking forward to drinking a lot of Scotch along with some distillery tours. Hoping to find something new to bring home.

Europe
Going to budapest, then taking an overnight train to prague, then flying to amsterdam and train to paris. Have been to paris 3 yrs ago but fam wants to go back. Everything but the train rides. Going last week in july, first two in aug. Kids in school, no choice. Anyone done the sleeper trains from budapest to prague? Alternative is two hr ride to vienna and overnight there then two hrs to prague the next day

We just spent Christmas 2017 in Grand Cayman. Stayed on the East end of the island for 12 nights and flew home Christmas afternoon. We dove (repeatedly) with Ocean Frontiers (highly recommended) at various wall dives on the East end. It's a bit windy this time of year but once you're 15'+ deep it doesn't matter. Best dive was our last at site named 'Rivers of Sand'. Starts at 60' depth and you swim through amazing pass throughs to the wall at 105'. The wall drops from there to over 2K feet...haha. Water clarity was over 100' making this a top dive site and a family recommend. The island is very expensive, makes San Diego look bargain, food/alcohol is easily 2-3x prices here, so even shopping at the store and cooking in the apartment is not trivial. The diving makes up for that. We don't plan to return to GC as there are many other dive locations we want to experience but we loved the trip and created great family memories there.
View from our 2nd floor residence (Wyndham Reef Resort). ![]() For 2018 we plan to dive Belize. |

Wellington is definitely a possibility Bill. I was thinking Mt Taranaki area for the first week, and the Coromandel or the Bay of Plenty for the second week.
