the starship chase was pathetic. I mean how lame of a plot mechanism is that when we are talking about a Fleet that size with a bunch of star destroyers at their disposal.

Take 2 star destroyers, and make a couple of tactical jumps
So they end up ahead of the escaping ships for a pincer movement.

So here is the most direct synopsis
Top of the force was...
Snopes = Luke
And they were replaced by...
Kylo = Ray

Snopes even commented that he had warned Kylo that the stronger he got the stronger his light counterpart would get. They are shown as equals when Kylo and Ray had the light saber gimme draw.

Luke went into exile when he not only realized he was training the next dark lord, but that Kylo was going to be even stronger than Luke OR his counterpart. That is why he talked about balance to Ray and a bit freaked when she did not hesitate when the dark place at the Jedi Temple called to her. Luke didn't seem to remember his dark place visit under Yoda's training where he became his father.

Be interesting to see where they go from Ray's visit to the dark place where looking for her parents the two shadows became her. Very much like Luke was looking for Vader and saw himself.

That was my biggest issue with the whole chase. Let's suspend an unbelievable story line to allow time for the rest of the movie to occur.
That being said, I've been stuck in the house due to the temps, and at $8 matinee prices (with beer and wine available) I am thinking of seeing it again tomorrow.

Rogue one is a movie I keep rewatching over and over on netflix to kill time, and I enjoy it. There's a lot packed into it. I don't know if will feel the same way in the morning, especially about Jedi, but, we'll see. At least it would provide me more ammo to flood the internet with more Jedi commentary -something the world desperately needs.

How many times did Washington escape because the British thought they couldn't lose ? If American History was just a story, you would expect the English to do better. I think Hitler was an even better example of a guy who repeatedly threw away moments where he could have won it all - mostly because he thought he already had it in the bag.

Dunkirk would have been such a time where he delayed and failed to advance decisively. When you add to that several days of poor visibility, providence seems to be working in the favor of those willing and desperate enough to make the bold move.

All over the internet on the largest websites with Star Wars talk the backlash from this movie is censored from top down. Since there is a backlash and its directed at Kathleen Kennedy the nerds are deleting any comments pointing the finger back to her.

She is typical of what happens when you take a woman and make her CEO but she is clueless as to how things work. The same crap happened to that Ghostbusters movie. Some hack turned it into a chick flick, hired 4 butch dyke lesbians to star and then burnt down the hardcore fans and said deal with it.

Star Wars is undergoing the same thing by Kathleen she's ****ing the entire thing. How come that just happens to tv/film of males?

You don't see that happen at all to female franchises. If male CEOS were as clueless as some of these women who wrecked SW and Ghostbusters this would happen.

Male CEO at HBO: This sex in the city franchise is doing great with the female 35+ but flatlining with male 18-80 age so here is what we're going to do to fix that problem.

We're going to cast Hulk Hogan that will bring in the male WWE fans. We'll cast Tim Allen as woman hating father in law of Carries. Al Sharpton will be a lawyer on the show to bring black males. Andrew Dice Clay will be cast as himself to cut down the women and bring in more male demographics. Quiten Tarantino will direct all episodes and each episode will involve one of the girls getting raped and liking getting raped by Jared from Subway.

We also plan to buy the rights to GIRLS with Lena Duhman and hire males in that to wreck that show and if the girls don't like it will call them fat man haters. But we must burn those shows to the ground and hire men that hate woman and force them on those fans.

What rolls my eyes are the hulk-smash-heavy-handed references that were shoehorned in with a howitzer, like the "I missed you so much R2" crap.

With respect to the spacefight scenes, there were several instances - on both sides - of "Why in the hell didn't they just do that to start with?"

I would have rather downloaded it, but by going to see it in the theater I got credit for a date night, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
