"I kinda agree with Rattlsnak, the 356 to me looks like an incomplete design study.
The later ones are a bit better, but the earlier you go the worse they seem to me." Yeah, Porsche's design really sucked compared to the competition. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If I was inclined to buy a 356 I'd want a kit so I wouldn't be afraid to drive it.
I don't have much use for garage queens.

Wish you guys starting these threads would provide a link. Is this just a Pinterest and Instagram item? The rear wheel haunch or flare is overdone in my opinion. Other than that it is pretty cute looking. The 356+Audi TT analogy is correct, but a spot of Alpine A110 could be in there too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_A110

I can understand putting them away when there's salt on the roads for those located in the north. On a side note....the paint job on mine is nothing close to perfect but at 15 feet looks pretty good. I have a key scratch almost the entire length of the passenger side - which I term a "jealous lover's scratch". I'm always amazed at the number of folks who 'automatically' suggest I get the whole car repainted so it will be in 'show' condition. I wouldn't want that - not at all. I like a few battle scars on the old gal....which is quite appropriate given her (and my) age!"Drive 'em!"

The headlights are too slanted making the front fenders slope too much towards the front. Or they could be moved a little higher.

That neoclassic makes my tummy feel bad. Too much chrome, the proportions are odd. It looks cobbled together. I would love to hear Cumberford’s take.

I should also add....these are 6 volt cars so from a safety perspective - attention should be given to the electrics as it applies to head and tail lights so you are visible to others at night. Clean grounds is usually the first step. Some have converted to LED and/or 12v but the 6 volt systems work just fine if attended to, IMHO.
Also make sure you have proper seat belts. And suitable insurance. Stay on top of the brake maintenance and steering coupling. For the most part these are simple machines to keep running and a blast to drive when properly maintained.

![]() Behold, MILF (Millenial Interstate Luxus Fahrt), a 356 stretched over a cayman, stretched over a nissan rogue. I think I've got the ultimate combination of good looks, stylish performance, and today's safety standards all wrapped into one. Notice mine has a luggage rack. 2+ 2 seating and enough room for some spare millenials and their smart phones. I've also taken the next step and intergrated the steering, brakes, and gas pedal all into the center screen virtual display. This way the driver won't have to take their eyes off the computer screen to steer. Much safer imho. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 01-07-2018 at 09:56 AM.. |

You liked that? I thought it was really bad.
The OP 356 looks better, but still a little off. .02
