I could have agreed with goal or no goal and since the call on the ice was no goal I didn't think it was distinct enough to overturn the call on the ice. As it turns out, it didn't matter.

I didn't like the call reversal at all, but thankfully the point was rendered moot.
Nathan MacKinnon has to be in the conversation for MVP.
Once again, the speed of the 'Lanche' appeared to be a factor in this game.
However, I do think the Preds will prevail unless Hammond catches more lighting in a bottle.
Sure does make for another interesting game.

Good on the Jets - it was over halfway through the first period so the rest of the game amounted to a coronation of sorts.
The Buds have to pull out all the stops today - so that should also be interesting.
I cannot believe I am pulling for a team from Trawna!!

Cheers
JB

sigh. Why oh why do I care? Oh well nice try fellas. Now who do I pull for?

Por_sha911 04-21-2018 02:59 PM

Sorry flatbutt. They played bravely and died valiantly.
The Tampa win (I picked them to take it in 5) puts the B's one more step closer to
Bruins World Domination mwa ha ha

Tonight is a big night for Boston. I'm sure they are already preparing a welcoming party for Kadri...

flatbutt 04-21-2018 03:22 PM

Thanks Joe, I may throw my support your way (not that they need it) but I respect the Bruins so I can live with the Cup bring filled with baked beans. ;)

I'm noticing there isn't as much chatter coming from the Pens bench lately. Maybe not as confident as usual? I'm fairly confident that they will take game 6 (although I would love to see a game 7).
The big question is can the Caps take one of the next 2 games and move to round 2?

You were saying?

Preds/Colo looking quite ugly at the moment it may be time to say bye bye to another team from the playoffs .

I have also said you can never count the Pens out. That said, at one time they were down 4-2 in game 6. There could have been a game 7 if the Flyers didn't crash and burn.
Looks like the Preds are on their way to the next round.
I'd love to see the final two teams close out the first round Monday. That would have me batting 1000 on first round and one step closer to

you know what I'm going to say

Bruins World Domination mwa ha ha

Tough game for the Avs. Never really showed up and Rinne did well in an away game to boot.

When does round 2 begin?
I forget out it works. Will the NHL put out the Western schedule now or wait until the East is wrapped up?

Pens showed what they had been all season--they are just better than the Flyers. Too bad some of the fans had to live down to the reputation of being completely classless.

Raask gets pulled-he didn't look like he had the stuff--Leafs fight another day.

Caps keep battling.

Pens can get some rest for the big push.

flatbutt 04-23-2018 06:52 AM

Philly fans really don't take adversity well.

Hawkeye's-911T 04-23-2018 11:22 AM

The Preds vs. Jets series should be good for some fireworks. The Jets are fairly big, fast, & physical squad.
The overall team speed of the "lLanche" appeared to be problematic at times for the Preds, a factor they
will have to address & make the necessary adjustments to their overall game strategy.

Hey Flat; seems I got on Rinne's case a bit too soon as he looks to have found his 'road game' - for now.

So who's got the Caps? I still think Ovie's due - but.......

Cheers

Hawk, resilience in the XTREME is a prereq for NHL goalies.

Caps, nah I have serious schadenfreude for a Chokevechkin! I'm a bad bad man.

Oh gawd. Another Caps / Pens series. My wife is going to be thrilled

Por_sha -- all eyes on Boston for Game 7. Wow.

flatbutt 04-23-2018 08:49 PM

NJ over Tampa in 6 (I know but gotta go with my boys)
Boston over Toronto in 5
Washington over Columbus in 5
Pitts burg over Philly in 6

Nashville in 5
Winnipeg in 5
Kings in 6
Ducks in 6

Yeah my bracket not going so well either in wins or number of games

Por_sha911 04-24-2018 06:24 PM

My bracket is in tact (except for the number of games in each series IF and a BIG IF the Bruins win Wednesday. I am very nervous. Rask just hasn't been all that in the last few games. It stinks to blow and 3 games to 1 lead. The Leafs have momentum and Anderson is playing Cup hockey. They have the better odds.
"Mwa ha ha" has become "Mwa uh oh"

GWN7 04-24-2018 09:48 PM

My dentist said it's going to be Jets and Tampa in the final.

If you can't trust your dentist who can you trust? :)
