Once they let Tampa have the lead the Bruins were licked. :( (see what I did there?) The better team won.
Oh well, there's always next year.

Now that Boston is out of the picture, I'd love to see the Caps or the Preds take the cup.

That's OK Joe, you can sit with me. Nobody will pick on both of us at the same time!
I'd need to over come my schadenfreude but yeah, I think Ovi is due.

OK! Hands up! How many of you picked Vegas to go this far?
I figured them for toast at the start of the series with L.A.
Shows what I know.

As for as P.K. Subban "guaranteeing" victory in the 'Peg - in reality - what else could he say? Having said that,
I have never been a fan of that brand of braggadocio. The only guy to pull if off & it have any credence was
Broadway Joe Willie Namath - Super Bowl III.

Man, I am (getting) old!

Cheers
JB

1. I thought the Sharks would figure out the GKs.

2. The best at backing a guarantee was Mark Messier. Not only guaranteed a victory but backed it up with a hat-trick.

3. Yes you are! ;)

Tough year to for bracket selection. Hope that the Jets continue on.

I picked the Kings in 6. So far the number 1 clubs are holding. Caps/Pens are going to OT right now. edit the Pens are dead.

beatnavy 05-07-2018 07:05 PM

Wow! Many demons exorcised for Caps fan everywhere.

:)

I picked Vegas but I sure did blow it on my East picks in the 2nd round:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525745525.jpg

As far as braggadocio, SHAME ON YOU for not remembering Mark Messier

I guess that's the problem with getting old. You forget stuff... Sure glad I don't have that problem

It looks as though the "Presidents Cup Curse' still prevails. The Jets completely dominated. The lone Pred goal (P.P.) was the result of a cheese-ball call.
Subban is a player - but that was an unabashed dive. I think the refs cut the Jets some slack later in the game with a couple of non-calls as a result.

Winterpeg should be quite the party town for the next while. Their fans deserve it after losing their original team in 1996.
Should be a helluva series as Vegas has exceeded all expectations & the Jets have proven themselves to be worthy contenders.

Have fun Derek - Go Jets!!

Cheers
JB

P.S. I didn't forget Messier - nothing personal - I just never liked him.
You Crosby haters should be familiar with those types of feelings.

flatbutt 05-13-2018 08:30 PM

The Caps are rolling!

rfuerst911sc 05-14-2018 04:09 AM

Washington and Winnipeg looking very strong .

beatnavy 05-14-2018 04:38 AM

Caps got a ton of confidence beating the Penguins. I always thought if they were to go far in the Cup it had to be through, not around, Pittsburgh. Depending on what happens, they should send Crosby and crew a "thank you" note.

Confidence is a funny thing, though. It can dissipate quickly. Last night the Bolts lost all confidence in about a 1 minute span at the end of the 2nd. Giving up a goal with 2 second left in the period - dagger.

Hawkeye's-911T 05-14-2018 10:26 AM

Not looking good for the Bolts.

Will Vegas' transition game be enough to counter the Jets?

Should be a good game.

Cheers
JB

It should be a doozy. I think the long break between series tempered Vegas' "playoff" intensity in game 1. It should be back tonight... can't wait for puck drop.

Beers, chips and salsa... my place, 7:00PM :D

Winnipeg was outplayed a good portion of that game. The Jets won't receive too many gifts like that over the rest of the series.

Tampa can't play a full 60 minutes. Too many bonehead plays. They are done.

Looks like OV will be without a Cup, but golfing much later this year.

So you are thinking Vegas?
Nah. I think OV will be lifting the cup.

flatbutt 05-14-2018 02:35 PM

OV is certainly due. It cannot besaid that he hasn't labored long and hard. But I wonder....what name is next to mate well with choke?;)

911boost 05-14-2018 02:47 PM

If the Cap's keep playing the solid Defense they are, and the offense can keep up the intensity, they are going to be hard to beat. That game yesterday was a clinic by Washington. Even after some of those horrid penalty calls they didn't get down and kept playing their game.

I am interested in seeing if Vegas wakes up and plays better tonight.
