Wow, Caps / Pens certainly is entertaining!
Hey Joe where you at bro? |

Caught the last half of the Pens/Caps (that pesky work keeps me busy) and it was a good game. The Caps looked like the better team but the Pens had the one stat that counts: the score. Lets see if Murray has a problem cause that will be a game changer. This one could go either way. Oh BTW, it does my heart good to see someone other than Marchand getting suspensions this playoff season... |

This is all good! No one team is running away with any one series.

I'm sorry but I must now withdraw my support for Boston. Watching Marchand throw that low bridge body check was bad enough but then he compounds his crime with high licking! I have seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

no comment :(

Sorry, Joe.

I was referring to the inconsistency in the officiating.
The Bruins? I wouldn't bet on them with any odds. |

Maybe Brad has a salt deficiency?
Have only watched a handful of games this playoff season. Helping my parents prepare their home for sale and haven't had a lot of time to watch. Just finished watching Vegas and San Jose. Good to see the sharks make a game of it at the end. |
I laughed out loud when Roenick stated between periods " there is no licking in hockey " !!! That was a great statement and perfect timing . Tampa looks good and the Knights pulled off another win . These have been very entertaining playoffs to watch .

The 'missed call' on Kucherov was iffy, even in slow motion it is hard to see why McAvoy fell. There was no visible contact with his feet, and the stick did not appear be what caused him to fall. Maybe Kucherov pushed him on the back. That's a hard call for either ref, one was way behind the play in the opposite corner and blocked by the net/goalie, the other at the blue line, with a poor line of sight. Clearly the both referees thought McAvoy fell of his own accord. I would have called a penalty, that was my first thought watching live at full speed, NHL played do not fall like that on their own.
I do not have a problem with the 'low' hit; the primary point of contact was the recipients hips, not the knees. Watch in slow motion, it looks clean to me, although it's unorthodox in the modern NHL, so it looks like a penalty. I think the Bruins are done if Krug is out, and I'm pretty sure he's out for the playoffs. Actually if he's out for one game then his season is probably over. Licking? Two games in a fair world. He's an indefensible skilled idiot. The incident with Komarov in Toronto was enough to merit a call from the league to the Bruins, this was way worse. Alas, I do not think there is a policy that covers his behavior. The closest would be Inciting an opponent into incurring a penalty - Rule 41(g). The Gross Misconduct rule would apply, but it has been removed from the rule-book. Supplementary discipline is structured for unsafe hits, although there is a 'General' category they could (and should) use. |

There is absolutely no place or justification for that sort of behaviour in hockey or any sport which conforms to traditional definitions of an athletic or sporting endeavour or contest. He is fortunate & it's quite frankly surprising that someone hasn't gone "mediaeval on his a$$" for all of his obnoxious on-ice shenanigans. It appears the Vegas coaching staff have come up with an answer of sorts to the Hosers frequent use of 'pick' plays for now. Although often called more closely during the regular season, this is after all, playoff hockey & the refs are being more lenient. There'll most likely be further adjustments by both teams come Sunday - interesting hockey to be sure. The Jets vs. Preds is a 'pickem' - your Broonz are in tough Joe. I really don't have a feel for the Pens & Caps series. Time being the mitigating factor for me, I catch only the scoring highlights which by their inherent nature, reveal precious little about the games. Time to get on with the springtime chores & set up the vid recorder. Cheers JB |
My problem with the missed call is that there is no consistency. One time it would be a penalty, the next time not. Same with slashing. Either call it tight or loose but not both in the same game. I won't go on about specifics.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525543699.jpg It was funny the first time. The second is just sheer stupidity. It can be called as Unsportsmanlike Conduct. The Bruins are done. They can't keep up with Tampa and I would guess that Krug is out for the rest of the playoffs. |
My daughter's friend hooked her up - she's at the Caps / Evil Birds game tonight. Hopefully they'll do better than last year when we splurged and went. Pens shamed us at home, and there were Pens fans everywhere (as usual) in our house.
Tom Wilson's absence is a tough. Free Willy (by game 7, if it gets there). |
