I believe we all make mistakes but I will not validate your poor choices and/or perversions and subsidize the results your actions.

Thanks again for the comments -- they were very helpful. We ended up buying the 2011 with 80K miles; they're doing the water pump and timing belt for us and putting on some new tires. Looking forward to picking it up this week!

Excellent choice! You will enjoy it.

I forgot one thing that I did replace on our 09. The alternator went south at 161K. Less than $200 and 1hr. However when the charging light came on, it would not drive, but would start and stay running. Early (IMHO) failure might be related to our package as it is Technology+Entertainment, the latter of which does get used.

We picked up the MDX on Wednesday -- what a great car! Luxurious, fast, with lots of conveniences.

What I like most so far: the seats! They are like huge, leather-swathed captain's chairs, but also buckets that hold you securely. I feel like I'm the captain of a yacht or something.

Biggest surprise so far: How much fun the MDX is to drive. The "smart suspension" system takes some getting used to, but once you realize that you won't flip over in a corner, the handling is very confidence-inspiring -- similar to a Cayenne, actually. The car's engine also pulls hard and urges you to drive faster. It's like a very luxurious muscle car.

What I like least so far: the gas mileage. Yikes.

All in all, it's been a great purchase so far. We're very happy. Thanks again for your input.
