The guy was funny, but I never looked up to him and he certainly wasn't a role model. Just another guy on TV. He's human, so stuff can happen.

Just as OJ did to DV, this case will do for rape. In other words, if you're slappin' the wrong cratch, you better be prepared for a knock on the door and a few nights in jail, along with several 10's of thousand $$$ to bail yourself out and lawyer up.

On TV this morning attorney Gloria Allred said Cosby was laughing while women cried during their testimony.
I did not find an article on that, but did find this about the closing statement.

It makes me happy for yet for one more reason to not be single and "on the hunt" now. Alcohol has been used as a helper to get into a ladies bed since the invention of beer. BTDT, got the tee-shirt, but that was many long years ago. I never got a girl to pass out, never wanted to, just get them to relax.

Now days I guess guys need a signed contract before the deed. I ma glad I don't have to worry about it.

No doubt, man have done despicable things to women, and women have cried rape falsely and I don't know what the answer is. I do know celibacy will not work.

One of the real tragedies with people is how the want things black and white, good and bad, completely one way or the other, like in a movie. I think that is why there are so many divorces and failures of partnerships, etc. because real life is not like that.
In real life people are complex all the heroes have faults and all the villains have some virtues.
So this man, Cosby, did some bad things but that does not mean he did not do some good things.
Like everybody in real life.
I like his humor and admire his work to improve the black community I despise what he did with these women and should pay for that.
He is like all everybody in this world. Complex, and not good or bad.

I still think there is much more to this story. How did Cosby get away with it for so long? He had to have gotten help. Did he hire "fixers"? Everyone says that his behavior was well known around the Playboy mansion in the 70's. Why wasn't he banned? Did NBC help him cover things up while he was pretending to be "America's Dad"? I can't imagine if there are roughly 60 women that the media hadn't heard things. Why was there no reporting?

No, just historical facts. It is common knowledge the term 'casting couch' and how women got ahead in the industry and the men to , pun intended.
Groupies in music or known toys of the musicians etc.
Yeah, Bill C is just one that got singled out and is being dumped on now. Maybe because he was bucking the party line on racism. But it sure is not like he was the only one taking drugs and drugging women and having free easy sex in Hollywood.
You would have to be incredible naïve to believe otherwise.

There are several appellate issues in this case. Its not over by a long shot.

In the last thread someone asked about other women not testifying to similar acts but not a basis for the charges. The judge did not allow those in the first trial. I said in that thread that the exclusion of that testimony is correct under the rules of evidence b/c you cannot allow evidence of uncharged crimes in order to prove the defendant acted in similar fashion to commit the charged offense.

In this case the judge allowed that testimony. That will be revisited upon appeal. That was a poor decision by the judge and clearly influenced the trial. It will likely serve as a grounds for reversal.

I'm not underwriting Cosby's alleged conduct or him personally. Just providing insight into the process and what will occur from here.

It seems to me these days most litigation is not intended to find the truth. It is to bankrupt somebody financially or, as in this case, to bankrupt a reputation.

Cosby has very deep pockets so counsel is going to the bank on this one.

The irony is that everybody wants this to continue except Cosby who is footing the bill.
