Porsche 911sc door to fender allignment

Hi there

I have a porsche 911SC 1980 since 2 months and i have a question.

The allignment of the door to the fender is not great to my opinion. All other allignments of the door to the body are OK.

Is it possible to get the allignment better by repositioning the front fender?

Thanks for your help!

Joost

Some pics of the offending gap would be a big help, see what you are up against...

I just when through this after replacing the fenders.

Since all the other gaps are OK, yeah it will be fix by playing with the fender.

Lots of fun as the top 2 bolts by the windshield are not easy to access (can be seen with the door fully open), the other dozen + bolts are access from the Frunk and inner fender.

I'm debating whether putting those 2 bolts back on are even worth it when I get to that point....
At the very least, I would just to put on the one bolt closest to the windshield rather loosely so that alignment can easily be done.

I am currently not at home but on holiday in the US so I cannot take a picture of the gap. But my theory of tighten the gap by moving the fender is not a strange idea?

You might find the fender a bit difficult to move if the sealing tape was used when it was installed. You just want to be careful you don't open the gap at the cowl panel. If your door lines up nicely with the rocker at the bottom but not with the bottom of the fender you're going to have to adjust the fender. IF the bottom of the fender and door line up with the rocker you should be able to adjust the door to match the fender.

I'm guessing that the gap is tight at the bottom. If so you would need to lift the front of the fender.

Long ¼" wobble extension and lots of patience to get the socket in, if you have a helper it should be a lot easier.

As Cabmando mentioned the sealing tape is a drag...

My driver door rubs on the fender... I'd love to know also the best way to adjust this gap.
