Cables not connected to anything

89’ Coupe, new to me. Tinkering around and trying to figure out why my interior lights weren’t working. Passenger door activates lights when open but drivers door does not. Thinking I’ll have to replace switch next. Glove box light only works when “on” and not when glove box is open.

The frunk light stays on all the time so I think the previous owner disconnected it from the main harness. There’s also a similar 2-pin connector just laying there.

Now while I was near the fuse box I noticed another candle just laying there not connected it anything. Thoughts?

Now in the engine bay, that light doesn’t turn on either, bulb is good so maybe another bad switch at the latch. While I was in there I noticed another connector just laying there not connected to anything. It’s on the drivers side. Cars runs fine so.....?

Thanks for any feedback. I’m currently going over the whole car and making sure everything works.

My low beams won’t come on, high beams only no matter what I do with the turn signal lever. Took it all apart to see what was going on and it seems I’ll need a new lever. Easy enough.

The engine compartment light only activates with the car running with lights on.
The frunk light should go off when the pin switch is pressed. If not you may need a new switch.
The glove box switch will need to be replaced. They really go bad often.
The drivers door switch might be activated by pulling on its black rubber cover and see if it comes on. If so, remove the cover and use a heat gun with a blunt object to stretch the rubber so it is not so tight. If there is no cover on the switch, the switch will need to be replaced. Make sure to secure the wire with a hemostat so it doesn’t fall into the black abyss.

And yes you will need a new turn signal lever but check your fuses and their connections if you haven’t already

The one in the engine bay looks like the one that goes to your heater blower motor. As for the engine bay light, it has either failed or the PO disconnected it. I disconnected mine as I felt it wasn't a good design and was more trouble than it is worth. It could also be that you didn't have the running lights/headlights on. Those need to be one for your engine bay light to have power.

Thank you. I felt by hand and found where the heater blower motor connects. Luckily my heat works perfectly now. Even the footwell motors work. 🤞 I’m going to guess and say the connector in the frunk are for Euro side markers.

Connector in frunk in first picture is for the intensive headlamp washer system, which presumably your car does not have.

Correct, I definitely don’t have that. Glad it’s not needed, thank you.
