Thanks, everyone! I think my next attempt will involve significantly more heat, both on the nut and (hopefully) in the garage in general. If that doesn't work, I'll have to re-install the suspension enough that I can use the floor jack inverse press method...

Keep filming everything. No detail is too obvious. Don't forget that. Part of your vids will give n000bs the confidence to buy tools and try car fixing for themselves

Jumpers clamps do not fit into the battery cavity of a 911.
If you still don't get it, then your level of stupid can't be cured.

Lol. Yet somehow I’ve managed to jump my 911 numerous times.

"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth" - Mike Tyson

Well the old ball joints are finally removed, but not without putting up a fight. No amount of heat was working. Even after putting the A-arms back on the car and pressing the socket against the nut, I couldn't break them free.

Enter my good friend, the angle grinder, again. I made two cuts in the ball joint nuts - enough that I could then drive a screwdriver through. Once I relieved the pressure, the nuts finally broke free and the ball joints slipped out.

Bonus picture confirming the effort is worthwhile:

Up next: Another video demonstrating the installation of new rubber bushings and possibly torquing the replacement ball joints to spec.

Thanks!

Back in action! The threaded rod approach works great for those of you without shop presses!

Subscribed, thanks Benny! Great videos. My 77 needs all new bushings and it’s very helpful to see the videos before starting out on my own.
Your videos left me satisfied

Nice video....
You may want to refrain from using the WD40 on those rubber bushings to help get them on the control arm. Petroleum distillates attack rubber which is why you may want to consider using dish washing soap or silicone spray. Neoprene isn't affected by petroleum products, but I don't believe those bushings are made of neoprene.
Keep up the good work!

Nice video.
Music could be even lower, since this is not a car blogger Vlog, but an instructional video.
Keep the little details

That's great insight, thank you. I'll update the video details making mention of this.

Nicely done. Recommend the change to dish soap as well.

I really like the idea of the threaded rod!!!
