That tail is hinting at this car being an SC Weissach. Any confirmation?

Finally at the body shop. Pretty excited to make some progress. First step after the hood and front fenders come off will be the sunroof delete. We will drill out every factory spot weld and remove the entire assembly.

as one needs the grinder at the end to skim the edgey anyway I opted directly for the grinder an cut it out. it was done in 15 minutes, including the tabs.
be careful, the roof skin is then very wobly and needs stiffening asap!

Yeh, there was no need to go through all the trouble of drilling spot welds.

Here are some photos of the sunroof plug installed. We decided to bond it in with some sort of state of the art glue. The roof sure stiffened up.

Looks like a great project. I have just embarked on a 78SC in Australia. I see that you are deleting the sunroof, would you be interested in selling some of the hardware that I am looking for?

I also have some spare sunroof parts if there are additional ones needed.
Nice looking build you have going here! Body work is so gratifying, especially once you see a panel get worked out and smoothed, primed, and sanded to 220 plus. It's art! GLWTB (Build)!! |

Thanks, I will PM you. Hopefully AGCGM has the parts I need. If you have them available that would be great, as long as you are happy to send them to me in Australia, at my expense.

A few weekends ago, my friend Sam and I went out to see Gary Emory at Parts Obsolete
In McMinnville. I’m going to backdate the dash and also convert the rear windows to pop outs. He has so much treasure! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I’m not planning to run coilovers but I thought this would be a smart upgrade anyway. Elephant Racing rear strut tower reinforcement kit.

That's a nice upgrade no matter what. Are you also planning do add their rear spring plate mounting point reinforcements? Another good "While your in there..." upgrade.

Working on the rear end backdate. Tail light support brackets changed. We found some interesting lead work on the left rear. It appears that the left quarter panel was replaced at some point too.
Making progress. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
