My 1980 Backdate Project - Meissen Hot Rod
I’ve never done a build thread but I do find them very interesting.
I’m starting with a decent 1980 911SC. Lots of miles and unfortunately one of the previous owners wanted to build it into a race car and really went to town stripping the car down. There’s lots to fix and a backdate is a big undertaking. I’ve decided to delete the sunroof and use sheet metal parts for everything but the front and rear bumpers. |

I love backdates, but this car because of the color, I would consider keeping it original. Either way look fwd to build.

The original color of this car is dark brown metallic. One of the previous owners took the car apart and sprayed it with this light green primer from Glasurit. Not sure why they put it all back together afterwards. This thing is a total basket case.

The original color of this 911 is Bitter Chocolate #408. Not my favorite. The clue to my new color is in the title of this thread.
