Moving along but found I needed an elbow for the dryer and a 7/8" straight fitting for the evaporator to continue but the condenser, condenser fan and dryer are fitted and easily serviceable. More to come.

The entire system weighs 30 lbs.

New mig'd on M8x1.25 studs meant burnt paint where new AC equipment mounts

Thank you Ryan at Sherwin Williams automotive division for a perfect match.

Bc of the red tube frame color (which FABCAR used a lot), I'm likely going silver on the exterior or white. Silver will have a nice finished look.

Next I'll try to fabricate door window frames in heavy gauge aluminum L channel.

I have a great TIG machine but I haven't logged a lot of time learning, so this will slow me down. It's much easier to mig which anyone can do.

I have a new 220V Miller MIG (actually my original 220V from mid 90s my FIL had)

as my old MIG was worn out and going bad. It was tough to get consistent welds last time around and drove me nuts. Turns out the interior of the gun chords go bad and don't ground well. That was the issue, they can be replaced but the big unit is so much better.

Fabcar 993 was being built for IMSA but was never used. Had openings cut for the vented A.I.R. hood as seen on "Godzilla" that car was called Godzilla bc of its wastegate sound! This car only ran a handful of SCCA Masters and took first in most.

I'll do tasteful twin hood vent so it vents properly.

Dropping PMNA 3,6 today, new lighting wiring seen running up left side inner fender has quick disconnects.

Yeah it's quick at 2000 lbs before +30 AC system which I'll share details as I go.

State Farm, not expensive but I'll ask the wife for a monthly number for you.

Here's the compressor platform and compressor I'm using. Required 60-70 Amps which is fine as 993 alternators make good power.

Note: insurance is under 250 per year.
Note: weight was 2000 lbs with full rally fuel cell.

I'd like to add a low fuel light as it doesn't have one.

Did you ever get a chance to break test the LSD?

Hey Matt, no I did not but it doesn't bother me anymore.

I watched a lot of videos of guys driving the GT1 which also has a lightweight flywheel and heavy race clutch and we dig it (my son and i)

When you break this car out it straightens it self out every time without any effort so we like it as is.

When a EVO driver described driving the GT1 it's the exact way I'd describe this car.

Seems it just needed to be driven and learned.

Buying leather 993 sport seats for this car next..

Here's a good GT1 strassenversion video that I mentioned.

Exactly how I'd describe the feel of this car.

Interesting to note the 3,6 has less vibration than the 3,8 and tends to last longer.
This car's 3,8 was sold off before I got it. (Originally had 2 race engines)

https://youtu.be/lmlXuV27QGg?si=23Z23MHF-GqTIDbN

Note: the Fabcar 993 is more balanced than a 911, weight bias isn't so severely rearward. We'll corner balance to find out proportion.

Electric AC completed, 993 rs wheel fitted with added tacho visibility by offsetting mounting upwards (custom adapter)

Heat is by way of one of the (3) large front oil coolers as this car has tube headers.

Now on to installing the perfect 993 leather seats my buddy in LA sourced which will take a few long shop days to do neatly as mounting is custom and they will be powered.

Then I'm making custom aluminum door frames to accept smoked Lexan.

Having issues again uploading pictures. Took pics of system which is compact and works great. I'll try again later i guess.

Fabcar is about ready to paint.
Im either going GP White w red accents or Gulf Racing Blue.
Interior is pretty sweet now in matte German leather, dash redone, gauges all reorganized. Getting there.
Pelican isnt letting me attach pics as usual.

Try again

Made all lexan glasses and frames, rear 1/4 windows vent. Door frames are much lighter than OE. Trimming interior in porsche perlon and matte leather from Germany.
Tube frame repainted
Wrapping it in leather as well in locations.
Getting close to body prep for paint.

I built in a secret "smugglers box" inside as well.

Front lid now articulates and has props.
Central cabin ventilation (center of dash) via fresh air NACA duct (GT1 ish) and heat from oil cooler with blower fan that directs warm air on knees. No exteenal Tstat so these coolers begin warming immediately. There are shut offs so completely shut warm air from cabin.
Venting cold air intakes from custom 1/4 windows via NACA ducts
Wiring all cleaned up,
2 gauges are out for restoration at AutoMeter,
Brake system serviced,
Oils changed
Cold leak down test performed and happy w results! Motor makes serious compression.
Trans and clutch are great.
Panels need bodywork and paint.
More interior work to be done

Ill start with the 1969 911E steel roof, the head area will be finished in black suede or alcantara.

Engine venting pipe remade out of the way of passenger,

Wiring now passes through btwn seating not along passenger side door,

Cleaned up all wiring especially behind the dash.

993 seats and added insulation will make this beast more enjoyable.

Weight will be 2200 lbs. Power around 400bhp

Rear shelf gets finished in leather when roof is moved away for paint. Im letting my son help out as hes got skills.

Gulf racing blue

Interior is all finished in matte German leather to match the 993RS wheel. My son did an excellent job and i'm teaching him to paint as well. Hes painted the roof section perfectly without a run.

Luan will deaden sound/insulate heat, for a better driving experience and is extremely light. Not enough weight added to care. We also installed exactly 20 lbs of sound deadening material so id estimate 40 lbs added. My goal is to remain at or below 2400.

As we all know here, Porsche used luan like this back in the day for kick panels, smugglers box lid etcerera..

Radius arm pivot plates will come off to touch up frame paint.

Gulf blue paint code 328 is fantastic.
New Auto Meter brake pressurw gauges installed so the two holes on right of facia are filled. Ill test them today as i let the thread sealant set last night. These gauges are oil filled and the originals leaked oil.

We reconfigured the dash layout to be more driver friendly and more like a 911 layout.
It was set up wrong.

Of the 3 openings not filled with gauges above, the top left opening is for fresh air. I made window frames so it needs fresh air but has electric AC. Heat at occupants knees from up front and wont smell. New alum dash cover panels go in once we know the brake pressure gauge lines dont leak.

Perfect 993 seats have power height adjust. The mount plates i added are threaded to quick remove and install the original race seat.

Id have this Fabcar done if i wasnt repairing a Alfa that hit a deer.

The Fabcar will be back together im thinking in about 4-5 weeks. Lexan is smoked.
The Alfa was shipped down from VT, it nailed a deer hard.

Fun car

Turning out well, Tim the owner is a 911 guy too.

Ill be doing a complete respray on this one.
