Great Thread.. I watched the cars, Pauls, Whitingtons, et all at Brainerd in teh 70's 80's. We were also there when Kathy Rude had her big shunt. Met her during the PPG Pace car days, great person, lucky to be alive. I remember watching the Whittingtons land on the Brainerd front straigh in their matching P51's.. What an awesome time in motorsport. Thanks for the re-curring trip down memory lane..

Very nice Garen, are you going to make up some prints of that?

Thanks for the compliment!

Sure! I am actually in the process of inquiring about some high quality Giclee prints (looks like oil on canvas when done) for a friend, I'll be glad to update you with my progress.

I had to call Al gore's office and personally thank him for this thread. Before reading this thread, I would have punched anyone who said there was such thing as an ugly 935 right in the gut. Man, the crimes against nature these guys performed in the name of aero should have been punished.

It never sunk in to me how these cars were "produced". When I saw the details in Bruce Anderson's book, I guess I thought it was that particular car that had the pedal arrangement or adjustable sway bar, not all of them. I never realized how many of the cars were from the factory. I figured most built their cars and just bought the engines and perhaps the suspension from Porsche.

One question I would ask is why no one got around to double A-arms on the front. the space is certainly there once you cut off the bulkheads.

I belive the rules stated you have to use the same type/setup as the stock car had. So they were required to run struts as a 911 does. But I also recall the last of the Paul's cars with double A arms. They may have been given permission to use them toward the end of the 935 life cycle to stay competitive.

Now I have realized 24 of 935 profiles, but I've prevent 50 profiles at end work.

I have another 935 friend in this forum, Bernd Buschen, hallo.

I thought the K4 was the most beautiful 935. I have only ever personally seen one, maybe two. the Fitzpatrick J David entry in the 81 IMSA series and another one I have seen in more recent years in Lowenbrau livery. I have never seen the Jagermeister livery until these photos.

Can one of your historians tell the rest of us how many K4s were ever built and where they originally were raced?

Don

This Jager 934 have raced in DRM (Germany) in 1981 season with Bob Wollek.
John Starkey wrote of this car in yours 935 books... Sorry but I don't speak a good English.
Best if you read on the books...

Not quite sure how many K-4’s were built. When the Lola T-600 arrived on the scene it pretty much outdated the 935. The Moby Dick, K-4 and Akin Hybrids were basically a stopgap to tide over the Porsche customer until the 956/962 was available. They were defiantly the most radical Porsche 935’s ever built. Admittedly they were pretty much a silhouette car with the chassis being either tube frame or monocoque with only the roof, A, B and C pillars used from the original 930 chassis. Here are a few photo’s of the Interscope car, you can see more on my website. http://www.pbase.com/bernds_porsche_935s Sorry, don’t have much on the K-4’s but there is a little info on the Moby Dick cars.

Hello Stefano! Good to hear from you again. Your poster has been professionally framed and is prominently mounted in my office above my computer. One of my prized possessions. Ausgezignet!!
