Driving lights: Wired to High beams or Separately?

I'm about to have driving lights installed along with new H4's (no time to do it myself with upcoming marriage and new house) and am wondering how others have wired their driving lights: relayed through the high beams or as a separate switch on the dash? (Yes I'm installing a relay apiece for high, low and the driving lights - 6 relays in total - this board has helped plenty on that - many, many thanks to all - informative and fun reading!)

My personal preference is via the high beams as I should only really be the driving light when I can use the highs. My mechanic is suggesting a separate dash mount as this is how they were originally optioned and the car is very close to original specs (body anyway).

Has anyone ever encountered a situation where they wanted high beams but not flame throwing HIGHS?

The final look should be close to this...

I have driving lights in the place of the fogs on my SC and they come on when ever I use my high beams. I've never had an issue with this, when I use my high beams I want light and lots of it.

One suggestion (and what I would do) would be to use a three position switch, that way the driving lights could be off, come on with the high beams or be turned on independently.

Actually fog light should only come on when the low beams are working. If anyone have driven through a heavy fog will attest, high beam reflect too much light back from the fog

Those are definitely not fog lamps

jmohn posted what I had in mind. Run the common pole of a center-off SPDT to the relay for the new lights, one side to V+ and the other to a hi-beam hot connection: On/Off/Highs

And I'm not going to rant about US market cars with fogs that can't run without having your headlights reflecting back in your face...
