Just ordered a new black top. The burgundy wasn't available anywhere reputable.

So the top pic is the new bumper and the second pic is the old bumper? THen do you have more pics with the new bumper?

Hi all,

Can someone post a few photos of how the door glass should sit in the trim molding around the top? On my car, it seems that if the window is all the way up and you shut the door, the glass sits on the outside of the trim and has to bend out a little. If the door is shut with the glass down and then the glass is raised, it tucks in nicely at the top. Do you guys always drop and lower the glass when you shut the door? Newer cars do this automatically (mostly).

Also, all my rubber seals with the cloth cover has faded to a light gray. Can I just re-dye it?

I leave it a little below when I shut the door. And closing the door by pushing at the glass beside the door handle.

The height of the horizontal rubber trim on a properly adjusted top, and a properly adjusted window only allows for glass/rubber contact on the the thinner, very bottom part of the rubber lip. It is flexible enough at that point to temporarily displace the rubber as it passes, and allow it to "flick" back over the glass when the door is fully closed. Sorry about having no photos to illustrate the point.

My wrench told me that the bar must fold in and the boot must always be on the car or the top will parachute. The problem is my boot has shrunk a bit and needs a stretching (somehow) as I cannot put it into one of the spikes and it drives me crazy. I live in So Cal and the Cabriolet was made for Pacific Coast Highway. I found a seller on Ebay that custom cuts new boots and I may hit him up as I am planning at trip to Napa this Summer and I want the boot to keep that top secure.

Get it good and wet.....it will stretch. If not in the mood to try....come by the OC near Didneyhell and I will help. ;)
