Just thought I'd add just one more factor to correct window seal adjustment. I replaced all the seals on my cab last year and while doing so I realized that the stop for upper travel of my windows were adjusted too high which allowed the door glass to travel well beyond the top edge of the window frame. This caused two things to happen. First because it went that high it ripped the small corner seal located at the corner of the vent window frame. Second, it also caused the glass to not clear the thin lip along the outside edge of the seal. If you adjust your window stop correctly and you have adjusted the lateral adjustment on the top seal itself you will be able to close the door without pushing on the glass while getting a good seal along the top edge of the door glass.

Side windows on Cab's
Hi...I also did mine a few years ago - seals.
Trivia: I don't shut the doors completely due to the seals...I just push on the door handle to the first latch. - Another sign of a 'sick puppy eh! ![]()

Yes, yes, yes! That is what is happening! My little seal is ripped as well. I'll have to look at it to see how to adjust the max throw. I have been leaving the window down a 1/4 inch or so and that is perfect, just hard to land on.
So, silly question: Those seals should be black, right? Mine are a light, light gray. Can they be stained, you think? The cloth is fraying a bit, but the underlining rubber seems good. I was thinking of re-covering them as well... Thanks, Franny

Hi Guys,
I have another question... About the head liner. Mine must have disintegrated a while ago and looks like it was ripped (literally) out. There are small fragments still visible. Looks like a cross-hatched pattern of dark brown? Can anyone post a few photos of one intact and installed? I need to replace mine. What is the best place to get one that is as close to the original as possible? Thanks!! Franny

just curious how rare grand prix white w/blue cabs are? i don't see much of this combo around (unless they're hiding). anyone know where i can get this info? porsche registry?
btw, i asked some questions on this thread and figured i'd link it here since most cabriolet owners would see it: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/783568-request-cabriolet-owners.html Last edited by G50911; 11-24-2013 at 06:37 AM.. |
