piedogger,
did you have any issues getting the driving lights / blinker housings to fit flush with the bumper? |

Kemo, no problem with the lights fitting and yes that is the seal I am talking about. The seal I have is the actual RUF piece. I did buy the the other beading from the dealer, I was going to use it on the back but went a different route. I paid $40.00 for it. If interested you can have it for $25.00 + shipping.
|
If this is the seal that goes on the front bumper assembly and
kemo does not want it. I will take it. I have the same bumper as you and have been trying to source a seal for the front for months... |
WOW, your car is going to look sweeeet :p
Are you also going to twin turbo that motor, like the CTR? |
oh the TT engine in that would be very sweet...or even a NA 3.6 would make a monster out of her!
|
The seal you want is available from the Porsche dealer for around $40.00. It is enough to do the front and rear. It is very close to old VW fender beading. The RUF beading is just slightly different but you would never notice. The factory part numper is-
999.911.205.40 Although the car makes me look rich:D I have to recover from this step. It took me two years of hoarding parts and money to do this! First I did the top and interior although I am still working on RUF seats. Next is suspension, so far I have Bilstein sports for the rear and 27mm torsion bars. It never ends. My goal would be a turbo to keep in the spirit of things:D Right now my 3.0 euro with SSI's will have to do. I am thinking some cams though. |
Finally Finished!
Here are some pics of the build and fresh of the lift, it looks kinda funny because the suspension wasn't settled. I will get her all cleaned up and do a pictorial.:) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096701915.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096701947.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096701983.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096702024.jpg |
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, beautiful. Get that baby out in the sun for some nice shots :)
|
I love that color. Beautiful...simply beatiful.
|
nice!
|
very very nice!
more pics. please |
That's a nice job.
Low on bux? How 'bout a $3000 turbo kit for the SC engine? |
Finished project looks great. I cant wait to finish up my paint and get started on the assembly....
|
Thanks guys, probably will be Monday before I can clean her up and shoot some more pics. It's nice to be back in my car, boy is it an attention getter!
RarlyL8, It was my understanding that the euro high compression engines don't like boost. I actually had a sok kit and was going to supercharge it but sok told me it wasn't the CR that was the problem but the pistons, on the euro's they would tear the top of the pistons off at the top ring gland. I had the whipple kit, raceware studs, and twin plug heads, I was already to go but then when I had to throw in new pistons... and I started too add it up... Sold most of it on the board and started collecting RUF stuf. For cuiosity sake what do you have for $3,000? |
piedogger,
in reference to the seal offer. I will take it if you still have it. Paypal ok with you? Thanks for extending the offer :) |
I'm not aware of the Euro engines having issues with mild boost being added. Someone who has done this can chime in.
For $3000 or so you get Richard Fong's Turbo SC kit. There's a lengthy thread in the archives that is reborn from time to time. Personally I wouldn't boost any engine without tearing the motor down for a checkup and new studs and rings. The Whipple would have been sweet but not in kepping with the Ruf theme. |
Kemo no problem just e-mail me with the info, Rarly I have read that thread and if remember they mentioned something about it not working on the euro 3.0. could be wrong though. I really need a 77 turbo and sell my 3.0 :D
|
'76/7 turbo motor would be SEEEEET.
|
I like that rear bumper a LOT! I wonder if I could purchase one without the holes for the exhaust ? My guess is no ?
