The sweet thing is this is rarified atmosphere....I honestly don't think there are many/nearly any street legal cars that it can't :

out brake
out corner
out accelerate

I perused C&D and R&T magazine road tests........the only vehicle that has the P/W ratio of the 930 is the Viper Competition Coupe. And Randy was gaining on one at the track.

Oh, and a little somthin' called a Carrera GT.

The key here is *I* have to learn HOW to do this.
Gonna take some time. Looking forward to it.

Man , I wouldn't be so sure about that . Looking at your numbers I know of some street cars even back a few years ago when I was racing alot that I don't think would have much trouble with your car ..not trying to be a jerk but I just think you shouldn't put such heavy expectations on yourself and your car..I would think the people who built the car would tell you the same..Just have fun and enjoy the learning curve . Steve Beddors Ruf Yellow Bird is a street legal car.... and Steve can drive... he is at the tracks around the country for PCA races all the time...

Put it this way:

Randy Blaylock, the previous owner has never been passed at the track.
And he ain't with Mazda Miatas.

I started daydreaming about a turbo when I saw that car listed for sale. I couldnt understand why in the world Craig would list his beast for sale, but it makes perfect sense now. What an awesome car. Im so ****ing jealous.

I did not mean to upset you . You have a great car there and I hope you enjoy it. I was giving advice from someone who has raced cars all over the country similliar to what you are racing . The advice wasn't asked for so I apoligize...I see Randy raced a 82 930 at Sears Point back in 01 or 02 and turned a very respectible best time of 1:52.3 . Not sure if it is the same car or not.

That particular day at Sears I was driving my wife's 73 911. It's a pretty special car too, but that's another story. My car was down with blown rear shock seals. It was a lapping day, not a race per se with Speedventures for what that's worth. I don't claim to be the best, at least not publicly :-) Excuses, excuses.

Anyway, I agree that the point here is that the 930 it's a great car for it's intended purpose, a steet driven track car, at it's price point. Sure it has peers and I'm sure many cars that have higher performance potentials. Some are easier to drive than others. It's just a special machine with a lot of performance that will challenge a driver, and give back a lot of satisfaction.

I imagine a lot faster....I was being nice I felt I was misunderstood and a conflict coming on . I just think there is nothing better than gettting a new ride so I am all about Criag feelin good and havin fun . Mike Courtney does 1:51's on DOT tires in his 73 911 at Sears/ Infineon and the zoomy (red) cars are in the mid 30's. A 1:52 would qualify last at the last PCA race at Sears Point for turbo cars and none turbo GT2 R/S ..a 1:52 is fast and would put you in the top ten in the next ( blue ) run group . A great time for any like 911...obviously Randy can drive too and that makes all the difference

Two of the things I have learned in life:

You want a car that will accelerate and decelerate violently.

That picture is from 2000 at Daytona....... those were sponsorship pictures for Hublot Watches.....ironically during the Rolex 24 Hour weekend in the Rolex Thundersport race before the 24 Hour race....No , my face has been seen plenty after that.....

2001 at Daytona

2002 with co-driver Johannes van Overbeek

and the new car, not the 935 , will be finished soon
