Paint cracking slightly after fender rolled

After my fenders were rolled some of the paint cracked and debonded leaving small slits that gap ever so slightly.

Advice on what I need to/can do?

Simon

Not much, now. You can try a little touchup clear just to seal.

Common problem, can sometimes be avoided by heating the paint gently prior to rolling.

"gently" can be taken different ways

my paint cracked after I used a heatgun on the lip

others had success w/ a..... torch!

so the moral is, you have to really heat up the paint... almost to melting point? (I guess)

oh, flake off as much paint as you can (it already happened) then seal it, either w/ Por-15 and touch up, or w/ some clear coat/touch up combo.

Depends on how bad it is, but I would have the area repainted and reseales on the back side.

This is a reason why i much prefer to cut the lips off. you will only need to reseal the edge.

Another reason not to roll the fender.

Well I used my touch up paint and "plugged" up the little slits. Not sure that's the best solution but it's the coward's way out for now. Will sleep on everyone's advice.

In the future one may consider using a pint pen and a clear as a final sealer. TowerPaint.com sells the pen matched to your paint.
