Bezel question?

Not sure why the Haynes manual calls it that, I think we call it the aluminum trim pieces that holds the front and rear windows in place.

Anyways, front window is in or it at least appears that way. The seal is catching the lip all the way around so that is a good thing.
But...
I did notice that the window is tight all the way around except for in the middle. there is a bit of play if you push in on it, though the rubber seal is catching the frame. Well, investigating further I noticed that where I have the little bit of play, is also where the two pieces of trim meet in the bottom middle. From where they meet to about a 1/4" from the center on both sides the bezel popped out of the seal. Should I be concerned? Is there anyway to get it back in with the window on the car. I don't think so but what do I know. Any suggestions?

What about the glycerine that I used where the seal meets the car as suggested by the Haynes manual. Will that dry up and tighen the seal?

Argeo, I wouldn't be too concerned about whether the glass is tight as long as the seals engaged the pinchweld on the inside and they lay down on the body on the outside. Those d@mn trim pcs can be a bear if they come out while installing the assy to the car. If it is just protruding near the joint, I think you can push real hard an re-seat it.
You may even have luck smacking them with a rubber mallet at least at the ends. If you try smacking elsewhere, you may find the trim pc ends up bending yet not re-hooking in the groove. In the end you may need to pull the glass back out and try it again after fixing your trim. (your FRESHLY installed window will push out fairly easy at this point without damaging your seals)

The ends on mine seemed to be slightly bent out after removal, so before I re-installed I layed them the bare glass to slightly straighten them up before re-installation. I think I even slightly over bent the joining end area to make sure what happened to you did not happen to me.

Hi Tim, thanks for responding.

I will try wacking with a rubber mallet. The seal on the inside is totally on. On the outside the seal on the top, bottom and sides are fine too. At the corners there is a bit of space at all four corners. I tis sort of like the glass shrunk. I will leave be for the time being and then take to a glass guy to have him check it out.

Oh, I bent those end pieces in a few time, they still managed to pop.
