'95 3.6 with a 915 tranny in a lwt '79.
28 to 30mpg on the highway is common above the marked speed limit. Everyday driving into and around town 25 mpg is easy. Track time can go down to less than 10 mpg. |

Don't know, and do not want to find out - Fuel costs to much here in Sweden as it is, and keeping two cars and a motorbike on the road during the summer is really costing some!!! I just want to drive the SC with a smile, and not think about what it is costing me

causing just a bit of brake drag. I'm sure it was having the same effect. Not to mention the HP loss. Low tires will do the same thing. |

Between 25 and 27 mpg on the Highway. I don't want to know what it is around town.

1987 TurboLook Carrera, completely stock.
17.5 - 19 in town (never above 45 mph) 26 - 27 on highway (65-70 mph) 91 - 93 octand gas and driven daily. My mileage went up 3mpg all around after running 2 bottles of Techron through it and changing the oil to Mobil 1 15W-50.

14.7 mpg. The only bad thing about a turbo.

Yikes!
About 16mpg (or less sometimes) in bumper to bumper traffic/idle traffic during my 6.1 mile commute. Damn commute takes 40 mins. Did 25+ mpg on a trip to Montana once... Any suggestions? Fresh 87 3.2 - Twin Plug, 10:5:1, 964 Cams, Backdate Exhaust, Steve Wong Chip, 92 Octane. Sigh. S.

Been playing with my air flow meter, larger plug gaps, Mopar ignition cables and injectors, a taller 5th gear in my late 915 gearbox resulting in 23 mpg in town and 30+ highway cruising @ 75 mph.
Recent roundtrip from the bay area to Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe and back, 465 miles (my odometer said 474 miles but I know it's off by 2%) on 15.4 gals of reg. with my a/c on and some bumper to bumper traffic in Sacramento. Primary reason for these mods was for more low end torque and throttle response which I got, but the mileage was the icing. Love that DME. Banned but not out, yet..

Recently switched to sticky rubber and lost 2 MPG, but gained in cornering. Life is a series of trade-offs. If you use yours as a daily and want better MPG you may want to look at harder tires.

I once got 24.5. Strong tail wind. Averaging about 85 mph. Flat ground. Stock ignition timing and mixture settings.
I generally get about 19 now. Ignition advanced, mixture just a little richer, O2 sensor disconnected. Who cares?

My 911 gets around 26 mpg on a mixed loop of city/highway easy/hard driving. The 944 has been getting 35 mpg on a mixed commuting loop with some (when not in the 911) weekend fun.

1980CS Targa with 3.6 swap.
27 MPG Hwy cruising at a steady 80 MPH. 20 MPG City driving like I want to. I could do better in both if I choose to drive nicer but I choose not to.
