Nothing that a few lead bricks won't take care of.

I've got an E30 325i that I can plonk the rear out at will and hold it there for a perfect slide for as far and as long as I wish.
I've tried in the 911 but it's just got too much rear grip for power sliding plus no LSD so it just lights the inside tyre if its wet. It could just be me though. Two years and still learning....

Here is more grist for the mill:
C&D, April 1965 – Rear Engine Cars Handle Best (by Jim Hall) I used to have a magazine comaprison test of several sports/exotic cars -- the 911 won and they commented on how it surprised the theories...

lol, i went sideways on the first day i owned her
fast turn , i know 100 is safe so i pick 100 , but it was miles on my dash, and km's on the road felt it go, flash of memory "911, whatever you do , don't brake , if it goes, floor it and say a prayer" so i did.... what a rush my best mate on the passenger seat almost had a cardiac arrest and i managed to pretend to be cool and muttered " 911 , weight in the back... bit tricky " while inside i recovered from a near cardiac arrest myself... there was tiresqueel, and it was sideways... and the fact that other folks were flashing their lights was enough indication that yes it was hairy... but it can be done ![]()

I could drift my 100hp 2002 with ease but the 911 is a lot more difficult.

Yup I can relate to this one. Gotta love 2nd gear for drifting 3rd gets a little bit too hairy if you get it wrong. Every bimmer I have had came with a limited slip diff and there a blast. When it comes to drifting you need HP. With a front engine car you can get away with less HP and still have a car you can drift. ( I am not talking about high speed track duty here) to drift with a 911 and to be percise you need HP . . I hope I am not off topic but the word DRIFTING got my attention. heres a link of a GT3 having trouble drifting hope it works. I have no clue how to atach a link. ![]() Click to see Video (edit-It works. Pretty slick to with the little picture if I do say so my self.) Last edited by herman maire; 01-05-2006 at 01:25 PM.. |

you don't even need an LSD or an E36 325i for that
my 924 can do that just as easy in the wet at anything from 15 to 50 mph... all it takes is a downshift in or right before the turn... doing it in the dry however is another thing...
