For those who can't make up their minds XM just got Oprah and Sirius just got the Playboy channel.

Here's where I mounted my it XM may give you an idea. The bracket also includes a 12vdc adapter for power, handy for cell phone.
The bracket is home made and attaches to the bottom of the ashtray bracket with 2- 3/16" screws. I obstructs the view of the hazzard light switch and the "AC" button but otherwise its not in the way at all.
I have the antenna mounted inside the car in the back window, am planning to move it onto the dash. want to keep it in the car for ease of install and longer life.

and what rocks were thrown? i merely stated MY opinion that your opinion was "rediculous"........
if you want me to really run my mouth i can......but that's not how i operate.
the fact is you do not like howard stern and you voice your opinion about it like a vacuum cleaner salesman.

was that spelled correctly?

If you ask me the Sirius and the XM units both look equally added on and ugly. Don’t bash me yet, I have one in my Pathfinder but wouldn’t put one in my P Car unless it was integrated in the head unit but that’s just me. Heres a shot of my Sirius in the Nissan its almost 3 years old and been in 2 cars but its very reliable - at least I dont have any wires showing.

Aw, c'mon. Give it your best shot. You're safe behind the keyboard.

FWIW, I appreciate your deep allegiance to Howard. He offers so much for the discerning "thinker", which you endorse.

wow, this thread started from How do I Install my Sirius Antenna on my 911 and has turned into a personal slam fest between ZOANAS and Bell.

Personally, I dont care about speling. why attack someone for spelling a word wrong on the internet? how lame. so what's the point, you attack a guy's intelligence just b/c he spelled a word wrong?

who cares about Stern and his followers? If you enjoy the show listen, if you dont, then dont.

who cares?

No room for humor in a "discerning thinkers" life? It sounds downright miserable in that reality. All work and no play, and such. Even Socrates enjoyed humor, in fact he was remembered after his death by Aristophanes for both a slapstick, and intellectual humor.

I woound up just buying an in-dash AM/FM/CD unit that already had the receiver built-in. Less fuss.

In any event, I'll leave the dead horse alone. Howard Stern is the King of All Media. I submit.

Man this went further than I thought it would. Zoanas old buddy I think you've taken a lot of heat on this one. I backed off early because I hate to see anyone on this group get their blood boiling over something so inconsequential. Take it easy and enjoy the rest of your evening....

i merely made a comment........it was in no way an attack.
you seem a little overly sensitive on the subject so we'll leave it at that....

as far as the "you're safe behind the keyboard" comment........use the search button.....i don't play those games.
well my blood isn't boiling, i don't get upset because of someones opinion, but i have the right to state mine, which i did......reguardless of how it was spelled.

i based my comment on your "I'd send back Sirius if you can, and get XM, they'll be around after Sirius tanks." comment.
way to instil confidence on a fellow pelicanheads' purchace of a sirius tuner, all based on your opinion of howard stern.

..........which i still think is rediculous.

lighten up francis.....
i'm done.

ok, everyone knows i am a stern fan.

zoanas has his antenna mounted between the wipers like the others and it is a slick location. that is where i will put mine also. it disappears and must be an easy routing issue.

in my opinion. i think both XM and Sirius will merge. i read somewhere that both companies need to put up more satalites and than cant be cheap! sirius signed up 3-4 million subcribers in 4 months! that is nothing to sneeze at. my radio broke. i spilled coffee on it, and it quit transmitting to my radio. so i needed a new unit. i had to go to three radio shacks to find one. they are all selling out.

i am with rick on this one, why arque? let's just wait out a year and see.

Ridiculous is how you spell ridiculous, bell.
You might also find it interesting that the paper quoted a single article from the magazine Inside Radio, which is owned by ClearChannel... a huge land-based radio company.

There is a bunch of crap being flung at the consumer by the terrestrial radio folks in the hope of keeping them (the consumer) thinking that sat radio will tank... but after switching myself, I can tell you that it will not.

What will sink is the BS that is called "normal" land-based radio... crap coverage, and way more commercials than anything substantive.

They also quote a bunch of "numbers" in that article that are completely fabricated.

It's all one big smear campaign, IMO.

People tend to do that when they're afraid.

Oh... I've also got Sirius, and am glad I did... a ton of my friends got XM and switched in a few months.

I also got one of the Alpine head units that allows me to run my iPod from the head unit (while the iPod is in the glove compartment), and BOTH XM and Sirrius at the same time.
