Just drive it like you stole it....
36 mm rear torsion bars, 18 mm sway bar and bilstien sports shocks and they will handle better. Don't think you would call them a go kart but you can still have a bucket load of fun. I love these cars............

The answer is no - not really at all.
But of course put 4.5 inch rims and tires on a lwb and then it will be tail happy too. With 225mm wide rears and 205 fronts its absolutely fine. But bigger torsion bars also help - try 33mm rear and 23mm hollow fonts - as reccomended by Steve W to me - I am very happy playing with it to dial out understeer on some Smart racing bars 23mm front and rear. Actually this is done.... it's just an excuse to go to the track... Once you have a decent suspension setup (including wheels and tires), bushes, ride heights, corner balance and alignment I doubt you would be able to tell the difference between the two.

Not - benefit to cost ratio is very low - IMHO

ANY 911 is "tail happy" if you go through a corner with the tires squealing and lift off at the midpoint. Mr. Newton's wild ride.
Do it with 165/78R15 tires and it REALLY becomes wild. Fortunately, most guys who still use 165's are concours fanatics who don't relish backing it into the guard rail, as that tends to lose you points.

"SWB tail happy?" I could not notice a big difference, it is easily controllable at the limit, it is a little more choppy ride, turns in a little easier than the LWB, Like all things there is a trade off, for quicker handling there is some loss of high speed stability. All in all it is rather subtle, I am sure the "tail happy" was mainly due to the tire size and type of the old days. hardly any body runs 4.5 wide bias ply tires for spirited driven any more.
