Engine Weight?

I was reading the safe for wife thread and something caught my eye. Somebody said that the wider tires in the rear became necessary with the heavier bumpers and engines. Well I have an 84 engine in my 77 911S and I don't have SC flares unfortunately so I'm running 205's all around. My question is, how much additional weight is this larger engine? And does anyone have a reccomended set-up for minimizing my chance of losing my back-end in a tight corner? Clearly, SC flares and wider wheels would do it, but that's way out of my budget.
Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated.

Not that much more, maybe 30-50 pounds. If you don't have a/c that would help. I'd probably install larger rear torsion bars and the 951 offset 16x7 wheels in the rear with the same 205's you have now. The 3.0L was heavier because of more aluminum and less magnesium. I think the case alone was about 30 or 40 pounds heavier and the crank and flywheel etc. but that's about all that is different. The later cars virtually all had A/c, then there is cruise, rear wiper etc. etc. If all you changed was the engine I wouldn't go overboard trying to compensate.

The original '69 Magnesium case was 22 lb less than the early aluminum crankcase, but I am sure the 930 aluminum case is heavier by at least 2-3 lb, since it was reinforced in several places! Not really enough to be worrying about, and easily adjusted for with your stock torsion bars.

A 2.7 motor weighs 200 kg. A 3.2 weighs 210 kg. So not much in difference.
