Try posting an ad on the 911 parts board. You're probably going to have to settle for used knobs at this point. I am not aware of a source for new ones.

You might also try DC Automotive and LA Porsche Dismantler. (Yes, I checked availability from Pelican, before recommending another vendor.)

It's hard to say what the thrid one is for sure, since I've never seen your car, or a picture. It may be for a blower for the auxiliary heater, if your car is so equipped.

Does it have a small red indicator light in the center, or any symbol?

Years ago, Stoddards used to have very pricey replacement knobs. Hard to tell, now with their poor online 'catalog' and search engine ...

If it's a little red light, look in the smuggler's box in the trunk. If you have a gas heater in there, the knob is part of the controls for that system.

Just went down this road a couple of weeks back with my new '73.

GOOD LUCK!

I'd hunted all over for both the new rubber pieces and the plastic inserts.

I tracked down the inserts at Einmalig. I'd try them.

The rubber I got amazingly lucky with. I scored the last three NOS pieces that KS Speed had in stock. It took me tracking down on the internet a Japanese language website based in Ca. that sells early 911 parts to Japan. Who would'a thunk....

Here's a pic so you can at least see the quality of the pieces I got from Einmalig

Someone used to re make the rubber here, I got a '72 oil door hinge from him and I remeber him selling the rubber. I'll do a search when I have more time.

I dont believe that the knobs on my 67S look like the ones in your pic,, at least they dont resemble the ones that were in the car when I got it..,, but its a source to check.. this is a pic of the dash.. still curious to know the function of the third, unknown knob,, I know Fog lights and Rear Window Defogger,, but how about the third knob,, what does it control?? Warren??

Okay, first, your knobs don't look like mine because the rubber ring and the plastic inserts are missing. Trust me they look just like mine before I added them. Here's a poor picture of my rear window defroster knob and lighter before I added them.

As far as the other knob, I can't say for sure but if you check the PET they list what I would think are all of the plastic inserts for the knobs that are available.

The list is:

Optional heater
Rear window heating
Illumination
cigarette lighter
fog lamp
Hazard warning light switch
radio

You can rule out the rear window heating and fog lights since you already have them accounted for. It's not the illumination, and I doubt is has anything to do with the radio. If you also have hazard lights accounted for then it must be the optional heater.

That's the way they all came. Over time the rubber rots/degrades and PO's just took them off rather than hassle getting new ones. The inserts fit inside the rings so they went too. You sound like you don't trust me.

This isn't my wife is it?

Okay, look at ANY restored or original early car interior you will see them. Check Ebay, this site and the early 911S registry. within a few minutes I think you'll see that I've been down this same road and understand (this at least ) completely.

Here are a couple of examples from my files:

Note the headlight switch on the left

He is specifically asking about a '67. Try the Early 911S bbs - they'll know for sure, if Warren doesn't post.

The knobs with the rubber covers are the same as the ones without.
The rubber covers started in the US in 68, in response to govt safety requirements. I'm not sure if they started for ROW at the same time, but definitely '68 in the US.
The rubber on my 73 was shot, as others have stated. I just took them off and polished them up with plastic polish. I actually prefer the pre-rubber look.

Randy,

I can post the same response at either forum. I'm a member of both.

However, I missed tha fact that he was referring to a 67. The pictures I posted are from '71 thru '73.

Joe,

I just looked at a book I have on the earlier cars. It has some interior shots of a '68. The row of three knobs is there but the left and center knobs look different. Instead of having a concave surface the are convex with no discernable central feature.
