Maybe it's a broad use of the term guido, but I'm inclined to believe pestos videos are bullsh** the guy he says is him has a decidedly English accent, and African or mediteranian decent. Hmmm...stolen videos stolen identity, stolen car, stolen stocks....

His accent sounds like a guy you'd hire as an extra on the Sopranos.

911 Novice,
I thought that Pesto or John, whatever his name is, was convicted for some penny stock fraud case and was serving his time. I'm pretty sure this was mentioned somewhere in this thread. Are you saying that John is out of jail?
Whatever, was an interesting thread early on until he was exposed. Thanks for the update.

It appears (according to my short internet search) that 9 out of the 10 indicted for the scam went to jail with terms ranging from 13 months to 6 years. Pesto was the only one mentioned in the case who was not mentioned in the articles about the August 09 sentencing.

A search of the BOP inmate locator comes up with this:

[name removed by request] 51430-053 41-White-M 01-31-2008 RELEASED

For additional information please contact Emily Langlie, Public Affairs Officer for the United States Attorney’s Office, at (206) 553-4110

So, it seems he is out, cannot make his living scamming penny stocks for awhile and is likely looking for a new way to steal. $200,000 rare auto scams might be his new thing.

This should be the end of this story. Anyone interested can follow up on the info in this thread with google searches. Let's hope this cuts his car scamming career short, maybe he can move on to real estate scams.

SoHo S&M club owners Donald MacPherson and Carrie Coakley tied to $50M mortgage ripoff - New York Daily News

Oddly enough I can introduce Pesto to these 2 after they slip through the court system.

UUUUUUhhhhhhfffff.... just finished this, all in a row!!

What a story...
Interesting the fact that reading all this at once gives you quite different opinions from those following it everyday.

BTW, how could anyone ever noticed that presto claimed to participate in some events (FIA), even named Monte Carlo Rally, without having any Roll-cage in car neither safety elements such as extinguisher, proper seat belts, etc. ??

Hello everyone. I have personal dealings with the scambag you call "Pesto". His name is [name removed by request]. He is 41 years old, was born in 1970. He currently lives in Florida with his wife Ana. His mother lives in NJ. As an individual, he's a worthless coward, a 2-bit guido con artist, however he does happen to be a low level thug in the Bonanno crime family. He's been in and out of jail on assorted fraud charges. Last I saw of him, (which was in 2008) he and his wife both had matching cars - White 2007 997's, acquired with money from one of his fraud schemes no doubt. I've only spoken to him in person on a few occasions. On the last occasion, he was all of a sudden much thinner - he went from being a 300 lb lard ass to being ~220 lbs. He told me he had cosmetic surgery, a "tummy tuck" to better fit in with the Florida beach types. He actually looked kind of sickly, and said he was in pain from his surgery. If only I knew then what I know now... I'd have kicked him in the groin and doubled his pain. Con artist ass hole.

I can verify the mexican stomach stapling (I guess there is no health insurance in the scamming union)

He may be a low level associate, certainly not a thug because he is a complete coward in person.
So much so that he used to send a friend into bars before meeting people to make sure there was nobody there who might want to punch him in the face.

Just curious, where did you get the info about mob connections? I remember that used to be HIS story when he was afraid a broker was going to quit or cause trouble. I've never seen any verification and tend to believe that everything he claims is a complete lie.

This thread delivers!
Reminds me of the one where some guy bragged he had some uber rare 72S that went over 170 or some such.

It was mentioned in the court room (I was sitting in there watching with much interest) the last time he was found guilty. Ties to that particular crime family are also mentioned in some of his prison records, which I have copies of thanks to a former cop turned private investigator whom I hired in 2009. The part I don't know is whether ties to the Bonnano family that appear in his court records and also in his prison records are mentioned because of his own boastful claims, or if the police came to that conclusion based on their investigations. What is troubling to me, is that he was tried and convicted on multiple charges of fraud, perjury, obstruction of justice, and a few others, and yet he served only a paltry few months in prison before being released. Why such a very short sentence for all these felony crimes? "Connected" defense attorney maybe? I don't know.

Most likely scenario is that he turned over all of the evidence needed to convict his partners. I have noticed that he tends to use Jewish people as his fall guys in most of his scams.

I have heard him say things that were anti-semitic I'm not sure if he screws them over by design or if it is just a coincidence.

Based on the date of his release it looks like he got off with time served during the investigation, he was released before anyone else was even sentenced.
