I was told the engine was a 3.2, out of a 84-89. Is this engine a better engine and should I do things differently?

Location Of Eng. S/n

This location is for my 1984, 3.2 engine: As you face the engine (in the car) the S/N is on the right side of the case half by the sending units.

That's where my serial # is as well. I am told it is a 98 3.4. That is a nice surprise, I think!

1998 was a half year. 993 first half and 996 second half.

Is this a better engine then the 3.2? I am taking this information as good news (I think). I have only owned the car for a year and it works great.

Production of the 993 continued until July 1998. 64WO3398 is an early 993 air cooled engine. The series is 64W00001-on for the US/Canada Carrera.

I believe it was around 285 horsepower instead of the 217HP in the US.
