Actually, I'll smooth and prep the gelcoat and spray a clear coat on it. All the body panel will be exposed carbon fiber but for the roof.

Since the fenders and hood line are higher, I think the front nose does sit on top of the cannels. When mine gets back from the painter I'll get some pics of how they did it since I scraped the fiberglass nose that came with the car and got a new one to put on.

Pictures would be great. The bumper will sit higher even if I channel/cut the flange down...so I wasn't sure without fitting the fenders too. It was getting late last night and my garage time was coming to an end (read...wifey and crying infant waiting at the back door) so I didn't go further.

Got my Getty Design GT2 rear decklid in, decided to cry once after buying a bolt on wing from PP and it came in damaged, PP said they were discontinued and they didn't have another to replace it with, so I bit the bullet and got the built in decklid one from Niel at Getty. So if anyone wants to buy a GT2 bolt on for a 993 that need work I'm open to offers! Black one is Getty.

So with all these 993 conversions I have to ask. How are all of your hood seals done? I still have the original track to put a seal in but the hood is higher at the front with the 993 body work and it rises away from the seal. This and the lack of access-ports for the rear t-bars are the only concerns I have with the body on my car.

Mine came with a "L" shaped piece that gets attached to the fender to basically raise the channel that the hood seal sits on, the PO actually didn't have them installed, but included them when I bought the car, so I had my body guy install them, hopefully either this weekend or next I'll be getting the car back and can take a bunch of pics.

Does anyone know if the 993 door windows and frames will bolt on to a 80 911 door shell?

I got the engine and trans in, fuel system done, 993 oil tank lines done, now I need to finish up the electrical. I did install the 993 door window frames and glass, and ineer and outter scrapers. Since my brother is good at electrical, I'm waiting for his help to finishe the wiring, so in the meantime I'm installing a new headliner. Once the headliner is done I can put the 1/4 windows and front and rear glass in, then start on the interior.

Now the fun can start...beginning with the front bumper. Did you guys trim the flange that covers the latch panel? Mine are about 1/2 inch wider on each side. I wonder if it was meant to be trimmed to fit in between the tub flanges or if it was meant to sit on top of the flange where the fenders bolt (since the hood and fender line is higher than stock).

If you did a conversion (pre-95 911 to 993 body) let's see some pictures of your installation, street or race.

I did the backdate thing and then the RUF CTR thing...now it's time for a 993 conversion. I'd like to see how you guys mounted the front and rear bumpers.

What kind of brackets did you use?

How did you mount the panel for the rear reflector?

How did you mount the rocker covers?

Although I don't plan on using the GT2 bolted on flares, here is a picture for inspiration (I hope you don't mind Princeton):

Anyone know who sells these bolt on flares?
