No Headlights and Brake Light and Turn Signal Fuse Blows in 73 911T
The fuse that controls the brake and turn signal lights on my 73 911T blows everytime I turn the ignition key on. So obviously there is a short somewhere, but I'm not sure where to start to hunt it down.
Another electrical problem I'm having is the headlights don't turn on when I pull the light switch all the way out. If I then flip the turn signal switch forward, the high beams don't turn on either. If I pull back on the turn signal switch to flash the headlights, they DO flash. All the headlight fuses low and high beam are fine. So I'm assuming I should start by replacing my turn signal switch? Any electrical experts have some advice on what is causing the brake/turn fuse to blow and no headlights? |

You say the fuse for the brake and turn signals blows when you turn on the ignition. Is your foot on the brake pedal when you turn the switch? If so, have you tried turning on the ignition switch without touching the brake pedal? This might help narrow it down.
As for the headlights, I had a similar problem that was fixed when I changed the switch. I could send you a schematic of the wiring if it would help you. |
