That certainly is true of the cars that are “slammed”, and are not the “right stance” imho. But, US height is too high. So, getting the right height takes some knowledge and skill. I actually raised my dear old Ruby up from where I first lowered her, for this reason.

She was perfect here; street & track. Curb too.

I'm not exprienced enough/knowledgeable enough to achieve that, but it is my hope to try to understand how to get there.

Focusing on how the car "looks" at the curb, kind of misses the point of the performance/engineering that went into the car, imho.

Form should follow function.

That car is gorgeous but looks too low for central Oregon(at least 4 months out is the year) and you’ll be dodging pot holes the other 8.

I've never understood why so many people are so invested in poo-pooing how other people find joy.

Here's another pic of my car sitting "too low", but at least I drive it.

She was the epitome of form following function.

I sold it before I move to Central OR, but it spent years in SoCal and did miles of mountain backroads east of San Diego (lots of rough roads) and got trailered up to Monterey area many times to drive roads there. All with no problem. Having said that, my 993 is similarly low and has never been an issue. Potholes can damage a car at any height. As to 4 months out of the year-it’s the cinders spread during the winter and possible snow on the roads that keeps my car parked. Not anything to do with potholes or height.

The fact is, both of these cars had all of their final height, alignment and corner blalance done by Jae Lee, one of the best Porsche suspension guys in the US. Until you’ve driven a particular car, your comments are strictly speculation.

I’m not poo-pooing, just making my observation that form should follow function. If your car is the right height for how you use it, good for you.

That’s a shame, you’re missing out on the best 911 driving central OR has to offer. We are blessed to live somewhere that’s doesn’t use road salt and has a countless number of roundabouts and backroads. With a good set of snow tires and 6”of fresh snow there isn’t many things that compare to a 911 on deserted early morning roads.

That was a very smooth transition from judging to condescending.

Funny, you talk about 4 months, 8 months, and your car looks to be set up for the 4 months. Great for you. Most anyone with knowledge of cars and who works on them, or any shop of repute in OR knows that the cinders on the roads can do a different type of damage to the cars than salt. I've built Porsches and other cars for many years, and I'm in that club.

I'm not going to compromise the height and setup of my car used for the 8 months of driving that I (and most) enjoy, sprinkled in with some track time. Again, form does follow function, and I choose the form that is really what Porsche's DNA is based on. I'll take my Chevy 4WD or the Subaru to the snow, when I need to.

This may be too low for guys in Oregon, but here in Colorado this stance rocks the race track, mountain passes, canyon twisties and even handles a little Colorado snow (not sure what's different with Oregon snow?). J/K

Thanks man!

And before I'm told my form doesn't follow my function, here's my suspension rebuild thread, including 30mm raised spindles to give me all the travel and suspension geometry that functions my form.

And I too...have a build sheet.... by the legendary Tyson Schmidt...... feel free to challenge HIS genius on form and function.

Porsche on the race track that's the "right stance".
