A Tip

Here's a tip, if you want to re-spray the black in your Fuchs Wheels, cover the brushed aluminum with Vaseline, spray the black with semi gloss engine enamel then carefully wipe off the Vaseline off with paper towels. Any spray that gets on the Vaseline wipes right off.

Vaseline will also bring back the deep black on most Fuchs.

Does'nt the paint bead off the vasoline and run down on the wheel rim or will the paint adhere to the vasoline? Did you do any prep work, like lightly sand?

Its a fantastic idea...............

Thanks

I'd love to see the nice crisp line you get with Vaseline. I think I'll stick with the special narrow 3M tape. Once you've done that part, covering the rest of the unpainted areas is a cinch. You could even use Vaseline!

I tell no lies, carefully apply the Vaseline everywhere you don't want the paint to stick. Spray the wheel and as soon as your done wipe off the Vaseline with paper towels. Rap a paper towel around your index finger to wipe off the Vaseline in the area where the black meets the machined aluminum. It really very simple and works great.

I did it and was careful not to overspray to much on the Aluminum, if you know how to spray in right--->left--->right--->left strokes you will be happy with the result.
