Can anyone tell me the part number for the "sport" engine mounts? I believe that they are standard in the convertables?

Quick question.
Are these comparable to the Pelican 'sport' transmission mounts. It's not worth me putting such a small order to Pelican because of the overseas shipping costs. My local P-parts supplier has these mounts in stock. I assume they are interchangable with my '76 mounts correct me if I'm wrong. |

Jon, I think the engine mounts are different from transmission mounts. Plus I think there is a difference between some engine mounts (concerning the cross-member).

Aren't the RS mounts the most desireable?

The sport mounts will work just fine as engine mounts in your '69. The only difference you will see from the originals is that the wall thickness of the central steel core is a little thinner. I believe they are cheaper than the oem mounts. You will not be able to use them for the transmission mounts because prior to 1971 (at least I think it is '71, might be '72) the mounts are pressed directly into the mount bar of the 901 transmission.
The trick here is to find someone who can press new munts into the bar or find a new bar - so far I have been unsuccessful in doing either. I have been told that if the transmission mounts are loose you can take out some of the play by reversing the big saucer shaped washers - I haven't tried it! ------------------ Allan Broadribb '70-911E, 2.2l with Webers http://www.cheaterswayside.com/uploads/Mvc-002s355.jpg |
