While the "Bahama-mama" is in production, I'm having a great time playing with several small details, including these beauties made by Jimmy Tidwell:

Titanium lug nuts! They are so light & beautiful, makes me want to wear them around my neck. (yah, nuts around my neck)

So, just out of curiosity I weighed them to see what the differences would be:
Steel = 1.2 oz.
Aluminum = .6 oz.
and the Ti = .7 oz.
Jimmy offers them in two post-production finishes: glass bead blasted or the machined finish (above). If you're a detail-freak and noticed the blemish on the threads, it is not a defect, just rubber scrapings from the hose it was on. The details on these nuts are spectacular! Go get some.

Here's another small detail I just finished -
Had a smaller diameter Carrera steering wheel laying around so I cut the ring off and welded the center hub & spokes from my factory wheel.

Transferred all the rubber grip padding to make up the diameter of the wheel.

Added additional felt to finish the grip and to achieve the "thick grip."

Painted the spokes:

Had a custom leather wrap made up:

And stitched till the cows came home. Much harder than I thought - the Youtube videos made it seem so easy!

Thank you for the encouraging words gents!

Rich - noticed the new addition to the stable. What's a '12 Boss 302? Or is it a '72 Boss 302? Good thing you have that honkin' garage.

Close.
Gotta finish fuel tank mod; finish re-finishing the wheels; slap the motor & tranny in; then some wiring; door panels; re-spray the driver door (I'll tell you later.)... Hmmmm, maybe not close? I hope to have it on the road before summer is over.
