Heater Delete / Block Off
since i live in Miami, FL i think it's safe to say that i do not need the heater on my 76 911S. besides, i think that heater hose that goes over the fan has got to be the ugliest thing i've ever seen in any 911 engine compartment. my flappers are rusted, there is no hose between them and the exchangers, the blower fan in the back does nothing but get in my way, and all the stock blower stuff up front was removed to make room for an updated a/c system anyway.
is there a kit available that plugs all the exchanger holes? also a piece that eliminates the hose that goes from the engine fan to the blower motor?

No "kit" per se but you can buy the parts from Pelican to backdate the heat setup to the pre-1974 version. It will eliminate most ofthe ugly bits from the engine compartment.
Here are several threads which discuss the topic. Pelican Parts Technical BBS - Search Results

You can get the block off's from Smart Racing Products. Just google it. I do not think Pelican carries these or I would suggest it.

Yes! if you don't you will get a lot of crud in the engine bay, the fan acts like a vacuum.

I have a set of the block off plates that I'll sell (also in SoFLA).
Be reminded...if leaving heat exchangers in place, you'll need air blowing through them (or switch to headers). |

I don't agree that the heat exchangers need air flowing through them, but that's just me. good luck, Doug

I have a set of headers if interested. I moved from FT Lauderdale to North Carolina 3 years ago. Removed my heat exchangers when I bought the car in Miami, but I really really need one here. Its barely going to get above freezing all weekend. I also have the block off pieces for the engine bay. You will need those as well. For the holes in the engine compartment, I just fabricated a piece of aluminum. Send me a PM if interested.

We're supposed to hit 36F in Ft. Laud tomorrow evening. OP may be re-thinking his decision!
