Porsche Crest 10% and 15% Alchohol in our gasoline

Anybody have a solution? to this politically motivated movement? GM has offered FUEL TREATMENT PLUS to prevent corrosion due to the water in alki.
Could be a nasty problem for older cars and bikes.

We have had E10 for years here. No other choice. I just use it- the 91 octane.

Even at your local Chevron stations? I've noticed the ones in my part of LA are ethanol-free. (Or maybe the stations around me just aren't displaying the 10% EtOH stickers on the pumps.)

Stabil for cars that sit. I also run BG 44K twice a year in a full tank of gas. Do not run the tank completely dry.

Stabil and BG for me also although I have stations here that sell non-ethanol gas so that's all I ever put in the 911.
I do, however, question the not running the tank till empty. Being that water is heavier than fuel, won't the water, if present, be nearest the pick up at all times?

Ever shake a bottle of Italian dressing? A quarter tank would tend to slosh a bit, throwing water up into the gas. Keeping the sloshing to a minimum would reduce the of chance of the water mixing with the gas then entering the delivery system.

This is mandated federally, not state by state. There are very few stations on that list. less than 1/10th of 1% of all the stations in a given state... they all get their gas from the same suppliers/logistics companies... so unles they are refining their own fuel probably just a missing sticker unless its race gas...

Sta-bil and variants work to minimize the ill effects of water in the fuel system but nothing I've found will deal with the corrosive effects of the ethanol itself on the (very-expensive-to-replace-and-when-they-fail-suddenly-will-turn-your-911-into-a-tremendous-ball-of-flame) fuel system components used in vehicles manufactured before the early to mid-90s.

10% Ethanol is nothing but bad news.

But, my point is that just like the vinegar resting at the bottom of the dressing bottle, the water will settle to the bottom of the fuel tank. The p/u for our cars is at the lowest point in the tank.

How am I supposed to keep the sloshing to a minimum in a 911? Prius, maybe. But then again, those things run on Manna, or so I'm told.

All stations in Calif. sell 10% ethanol---no label is required to be posted on the tanks thanks to AB1650 which was passed in 1998 and became effective Jan. 1. 1999. I test mine with a test kit I bought from Fuel Testers. Works great!

With your test kit do you find the amount of Ethanol to be a consistent 10%? Higher or lower?
