How to identify genuine Lollipop seats?!

Is there an easy way to identify a genuine lollipop 934 seat? Or were there different lollipop seats even back in the day?

They're a bit asymmetrical - the bottom left bolster bows out a bit more, presumably for clutch leg freedom.
Also, theres a dent in the bottom, for clearance on the seat slider release.
Don't know whatkind of clues you're looking for here; I think there were 2 different ones back in the day - what came in the factory cars, and the ones sold by Vasek in his racing catalog.

Well, maybe they had a part# or label/tag somewhere... Thanks for the reply

There are more than one type. I have seen some Recaro lollypops (I an guessing Recaro made lollypops) without seatbelt holes (side or bottom center hole). If anyone ever knows anything about these. I would be interested to hear it.

I posted it in another discussion regarding lollypops on this forum prior. No one else seemed to have ever seen any.

Never saw a sticker on mine, but I didn't remove the upholstery. Ask Stefan at GTS what he's seen.
Are you looking at buying one? I sold one not too long ago, and the buyer decided not to keep it. If you're looking at that one (Hergesheimer), it's very real.

BTW D-Zug.us is coming out with a replica of the exact copy of the original seat in perfect carbon fiber in about two weeks. My personal project ever since I bought the original seat.

Notice the wider side on the driver's door bolster, this was so it was easier to get in and out of. Also a true original seat is a 2 piece unit and has a thickness to it no other seats have as copies are done in 1 piece. The 2 piece setup was to give it strength while keeping it lighter.

And at the risk of posting too much, this is the detail of how Stephan upholstered my seat. My seat was sourced from a Vasek Polak estate sale.

Stephan did incredible work, but he does charge a premium - however you get what you pay for in this kind of work.

How comfortable are they? I was thinking about buying a pair from Stephan? I've been using the Recaro SPG (race car back to street car) and would like a little more padding and room.

Daily driven for 5 months, most comfortable seat i've ever had. But stephans are not replicas of the original from what i understand, he makes them larger for the modern day man. Price upholstered is about $800 a seat I think, upholstery is another $300 or so. Just so you know.

Think Stefan makes them both original size and American-expanded; check his website Originals are very comfy if you hit the size range - about 5'8" to 6', 150 -175 lbs.

Reaper930,

Where is the seam were the two pieces join together. I cannot see it in the photos of that bare shell you supplied.

Thx

Wow thanks for the replies Reaper! What do you mean with the 2 part construction?
Did you mount it with runners or straight to the floor?

Yesterday I met the seller at the Nurburgring to pick up my seat. He told me he got it a couple of years ago from one of Kremer's mechanics in a swap. The foam seems to have deteroriated on the seatback and bolsters, but the seatcushion is in good shape, as is the fabric cover.
Don't know if I'll have it restored or use like this.
Here's some bad pics, will take some less blurry ones tomorrow

P.S.: what's the going rate for original seats?

One with flash (yeah I suck at taking pics)

Looks like I have the sister seat. Also came from a Kremer car.

Lollipops

Hi, The seam is not visible as you make 2 molds- s shells and you bound them together wet so the seam is the outside and doesn't show..that why these seats are a bit more pricy and the mountings have to be put inside.....here a seat I have done in fireretardent Nomex...hard to work with but try a torch to it....
...the seam
..with the bare back....

Pasha...
